Position Innovation Senior Manager – GIANT (Grifols Innovation and New Technologies) GIANT is Grifols’ external innovation team dedicated to identifying, evaluating and advancing high‑value external opportunities that strengthen the company’s R&D pipeline and support long‑term growth. The Innovation Senior Manager coordinates all GIANT team activities, ensuring effective execution across key domains. Key Responsibilities Search and evaluation of external innovation opportunities, ensuring high‑quality and timely evaluations and efficient reporting to the Scientific Innovation Office (SIO) and Grifols leadership. Technological vigilance and competitive intelligence activities in our competency areas, providing reliable, comparable and actionable information. Lead budget preparation, monitoring, forecasting and reporting, ensuring alignment with KPIs and financial stewardship. Engage internal stakeholders to promote innovation and cross‑functional alignment, supporting excellence at Grifols and driving growth. Act as a critical liaison to external partners, fostering strategic collaborations, enhancing innovation within the ecosystem, and ensuring efficient operational support. Drive strategic alignment, operational efficiency, cross‑functional collaboration, and effective documentation within GIANT, SIO and across the organization. End‑to‑end management of external innovation opportunities, establishing governance, processes and reporting standards for deal flow. Scouting, evaluation and monitoring of opportunities through conferences, scouting activities and CRM management. Coordinate technology vigilance and competitive intelligence activities across teams, delivering strategic intelligence and KRIs to stakeholders. Plan, monitor and control the GIANT yearly budget; provide financial reporting, forecasting and KPI alignment. Build and manage strategic external relationships within the innovation ecosystem (e.g., ASEBIO, Biocat, Catalunya health, ACCIO). Qualifications PhD in life sciences with post‑doc, MD, PharmD or equivalent advanced scientific degree; preferred MBA or strong strategic/business training. 10+ years of experience in biopharma/biotech/healthcare innovation, with a track record in drug discovery, translational medicine, R&D strategy, external innovation, business development, alliance management, corporate venture, and project management. Deep knowledge of drug modalities, new technologies and platforms in drug discovery and development. Demonstrated experience in therapeutic areas such as immunology, autoimmunity, pulmonology, critical care and infectious diseases. Established network in the pharma, biotech and venture‑capital innovation community. Operational and execution excellence, strategic thinking, ecosystem fluency, partnership leadership, executive communication, deal acumen and influence without authority. Preferred Skills Strong portfolio perspective and white‑space identification capability. Deep understanding of biotech, academic, VC, startup and pharma innovation landscapes. Ability to build trust with high‑level external stakeholders. Ability to synthesize complexity into clear strategic recommendations. Comfort with collaboration structures, risk‑sharing models and licensing concepts. Exceptional cross‑functional leadership and strong judgment under uncertainty. Location and Working Hours Locations: Sant Cugat del Valles, Aigües de Vilajuïga, Barcelona, Coslada (Madrid), Derio, Remote, Expat, Leioa, Mondragón (Arrasate), Parets del Valles, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santiago Compostela, Sevilla, Torres de Cotillas, Valencia, Zaragoza. Hybrid model with flexible schedule: Monday‑Thursday 7:00‑10:00 and 16:00‑19:00; Friday 8:00‑15:00 (with flexible start time). Benefits Permanent contract of employment.
