If you are passionate about Software and want to work on improving Grid resilience through Software, this is the role for you. /p pThe Lead Application RD Engineer directly contributes to and drives the ideation, design, development, verification, documentation, component creation, and delivery of key applications and components supporting AAA business growth in the distributed automation, power generation and transmission fields. In this role he/she closely collaborates with and supports product management, COEs and customers to help define solutions and roadmaps that lead to customer success. As a subject matter expert, he/she actively contributes to and supervises major innovation activities within AAA, GA and with the Grid Solutions Innovation Lab. /p pThis position will report to the Protection and Control System Engineering Leader and is responsible for value creation within the Advance Automation Applications (AAA) scope, contributing to all key stages of the NPI process and, where required, directly to customer projects. /p h3bJob Description /b /h3 h3bDetailed Responsibilities /b /h3 pTechnology development on power system control and management solutions for smart grid applications, including: /p ul liFunctional and system design and architecture specifications: ul liSystem modelling using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Opal‑RT as a means to create and test applications. Algorithm development: design, develop and validate smart grid algorithms in both function block and conventional software implementations. /li liTest environment design and set‑up: support the VV team to define the test and simulation environment scenarios for validation. /li liDesign GUI views that depict application interaction environments and to enable VV testing and support AAA deliveries. /li liApplication function block development: to build ready to use AFB for embedded automation monitoring, analytics, forecasting, management, control and protection systems. /li liTest and validation: to perform test and validation of the solution including related debugging. /li /ul /li liDepending on the context and needs, act as a project technical leader or scrum master. /li liTechnical support and development leadership of key‑business developments for AAA roadmap. Autonomous proposal, development, and demonstration of novel techniques for increased differentiation from competition. /li liContribute to Grid Solutions Innovation Lab activities in support of AAA and wider GS roadmap advancement and strategic activities. /li liSupport business development and project pipeline build‑up and delivery activities. This includes: ul liSystem design specifications and model verification. /li liCommissioning support to COE and operations teams. /li /ul /li liPropose improvement programs feeding into the team development roadmap. /li liWorking with customers to identify and solve power systems issues using our software solutions, while ensuring that any REX is used for feeding/prioritizing future developments. /li liParticipating in technical visits, workshops, demos, conferences, trade shows and delivery of customer/stakeholder training according to the specific case and opportunity. /li /ul h3bBasic Qualifications /b /h3 ul liGenuine interest and passion for solving complex power system problems. /li liDegree in renewable energies, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar field from an accredited university. /li liStrong industrial experience developing and delivering (includes FAT/SAT) power systems management, automation, protection and control applications involving application specification, design, development, testing, in at least Linux and Windows environments using Agile processes. /li liProven experience in RD solutions related to technology development in power systems, automation, protection and control domains. /li liDemonstrated track record of influencing various stakeholders through the RD process in order to achieve desired outcomes for the customers. /li liPragmatic approach to problem‑solving. /li /ul h3bDesired Characteristics /b /h3 ul liStrong analytical skills with ability to identify and explain critical issues. /li liGood technical and higher management communication skills. /li liExperienced in multi‑cultural distributed working environments. /li liQuestioning and reasoning skills. /li liTeam player with excellent team communication skills and knowledge sharing ability. /li liInclined to be a change agent with high energy and drive for innovation. /li /ul h3bKnowledge Experience /b /h3 ul liSoftware development tools including programming languages, code‑checking, version control, Agile‑oriented support tools (Jira, SVN, Git). /li liProficient in the use of Matlab, Simulink, Matlab Embedded Coding, Automated testing. /li liExperience with 61131 PLC development systems (desired). /li liExperience as a developer in Linux and MS Windows environments (desired). /li liExperienced in SW release management and other aspects of SDLC. /li /ul h3bPerformance Measurement /b /h3 ul liReleasing AAA products on time, quality, and cost. /li liOpen and early communication of progress and issues. /li liAdherence to the GE Vernova standards. /li /ul h3bAdditional Information /b /h3 pRelocation Assistance Provided: No /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
