Patient Recruitment Associate I (Freelance Contractor) Location: Alcobendas, Madrid, Spain (Hybrid) Contract Length: 3 Months Initial Contract (Potential Extension) Working Pattern: Full-time, 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote About the Role Accellacare, part of ICON plc, is seeking a Patient Recruitment Associate I to support patient enrolment activities for upcoming clinical research studies. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain experience within the clinical research industry. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal entry-level position for individuals interested in healthcare, life sciences, clinical trials, or patient engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for screening and engaging potential study participants, managing patient information, scheduling appointments, and supporting recruitment targets across a range of clinical trials. Key Responsibilities • Promote the mission of ICON and Accellacare by helping individuals access clinical research opportunities., • Conduct telephone-based screening of potential study participants against protocol-specific inclusion and exclusion criteria., • Accurately enter, review, update, and maintain patient information within clinical trial management systems., • Schedule suitable participants into site appointments and maintain accurate booking records., • Develop a thorough understanding of study protocols and recruitment requirements., • Identify appropriate study opportunities for interested participants based on eligibility criteria., • Build positive relationships with volunteers and ensure an excellent participant experience throughout the recruitment journey., • Support recruitment and enrolment targets through proactive participant engagement and follow-up., • Effectively communicate the benefits and importance of clinical research participation., • Maintain accurate records and work across multiple databases, systems, and tracking tools., • Ensure compliance with confidentiality, data privacy, and regulatory requirements at all times., • Collaborate with site teams and recruitment colleagues to support study enrolment goals. Required Skills & Experience Essential • Fluent Spanish language skills., • Good English language skills, particularly reading and written communication., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills., • Comfortable speaking with individuals over the phone for extended periods., • Good administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail., • Confident using multiple computer systems, databases, and tracking tools simultaneously., • Eligible to work as a freelance contractor (Autónomo) in Spain., • Ability to work onsite in Alcobendas three days per week. Preferred • Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, or a related discipline., • Previous experience in a customer service, call centre, outbound calling, patient-facing, recruitment, or administrative environment., • Interest in clinical research, healthcare, or the pharmaceutical industry., • Experience working to targets or performance metrics.
