We craft the creative vision and strategy for different types of projects and audiences, and amplify them across various mediums, channels, objects to environments, and digital and physical experiences. /ppThe Stripe brand identity team is responsible for defining and evolving Stripe’s visual identity, and bringing the Stripe brand to life in new and impactful ways across surfaces. Our goal is to enable the creation of a coherent, high quality brand experience across the user journey, building recognition and trust in Stripe at every turn. We collaborate with other design systems teams to translate our brand for Stripe.com and Dashboard, and partner with teams across the company on high impact user-facing projects to create work that feels authentic to Stripe at scale. /ph3What you'll do /h3pMotion Designers at Stripe demonstrate a passion for the craft of movement and a deep understanding of how motion communicates brand character. As a member of the Identity team, you will be responsible for defining and elevating Stripe's motion language across new and existing surfaces. Motion designers at Stripe demonstrate passion for great design and for expanding, evolving, defining, and documenting flexible motion systems that achieve bar-raising quality and consistency for the brand at scale. The ideal candidate is technically fluent, crisply articulates motion decisions, and collaborates seamlessly with other designers, engineers, marketers, and agency partners. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliExecute motion design direction across Stripe's brand ecosystem—from concept through final delivery /liliChampion and influence how the Stripe brand expresses itself through image and motion and develop guidelines, systems, and processes to ensure quality and consistency at scale /liliContribute to and maintain Stripe's motion design system: principles, timing tokens, animation guidelines, and reusable motion components /liliWork collaboratively with non-motion designers, elevating and informing each other’s work /liliCoordinate with external motion and production studios or contractors in creative strategy, execution, and delivery /liliShare motion knowledge and best practices with teammates /liliStay curious and experimental as an avid maker, obsessed with tinkering and iterating to create beautiful things /liliShape a strategic vision that pushes brand boundaries and builds internal awareness of design’s impact at Stripe /li /ulh3Who you are /h3pWe’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. /ph3Requirements /h3ulliHave 5+ years of relevant motion design experience for technical, brand-driven, or product-led organizations /liliExpert command of motion design tools: After Effects, Cinema 4D (or Houdini), AI tools, and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite /liliStrong portfolio demonstrating high-craft motion work—including brand identity systems, campaign work, in-product animation, and/or data-driven motion /liliDeep understanding of animation principles: timing, easing, staging, anticipation, and how motion communicates meaning and brand character /liliAre a systems-thinker and excel at extrapolating and extending shared patterns and behaviors /liliWorking knowledge of emerging motion and AI tools and how they fit into a professional production workflow /liliStrong track record delivering high-quality motion work independently, and in close collaboration with cross-functional partners /liliFind a meaningful balance between optimizing for speed, quality, and doing challenging, interesting, frame-perfect work /liliAre persuasive and humble in explaining your work, process, and decisions and crave feedback to help you design at your best /liliLove working with other designers to help them learn and grow—and have them help you learn and grow /liliHave excellent organization and presentation skills, and excel in written and verbal communication /liliHighly detail-oriented, with a drive for perfection down to the last frame /liliAre passionate about Stripe's mission, are dedicated to a user-first mindset, and have experience working with data and insights /li /ulh3Hybrid work at Stripe /h3pThis role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). /ph3In-office expectations /h3pOffice-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams. /ph3Working remotely at Stripe /h3pA remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently live or plan to live. /ph3Pay and benefits /h3pThe annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €74,800 - €112,200. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process. /ppSpecific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
