Job Description Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector performs routine and repetitive inspection procedures to ensure high quality standards at various stages of electronic manufacturing. This role focuses on inspecting printed circuit boards (PCBs), sub-assemblies, and higher-level assemblies using magnifiers and other tools to identify defects and verify conformance to specifications. The position is contract-to-hire, offers multiple shift options, and requires strong attention to detail, comfort with repetitive tasks, and the ability to work under a microscope for extended periods. Responsibilities • Perform routine and repetitive inspection procedures to ensure quality levels at various stages of production., • Visually inspect sub-assemblies, PCBA, and HLA-level products using magnifiers, microscopes, and other tools., • Use lot sampling methods or perform 100% inspection as required by product and process specifications., • Inspect finished PCBs for defects and verify that assemblies meet defined quality and workmanship standards., • Participate in root cause analysis activities to help identify the causes of quality issues and support corrective actions., • Enter standardized quality and inspection information into designated systems, including GSF and other internal software., • Follow and support 5S standards to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work area., • Keep supervisors informed of inspection results and escalate quality issues or abnormalities promptly when needed., • Handle PCBs by turning, flipping, and angling them safely and consistently during inspection., • Use basic computer applications, including Excel and email, to document inspection results and communicate as needed., • Work under a microscope or magnification equipment for extended periods while maintaining a high level of focus., • Adhere to established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards throughout all inspection activities., • Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information encountered during daily work., • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and quality expectations., • Support related production activities such as testing, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging as needed., • Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating a great attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn., • Complete required training and achieve Quality Assurance certification within the specified timeframe and maintain that certification., • Use hand tools and other basic equipment safely and effectively during inspection and related tasks., • Perform repetitive computer tasks in various software systems to create, edit, and save quality-related records. Essential Skills • Previous quality inspection experience in electronic manufacturing or a similar environment is highly preferred., • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with electro-mechanical components and assemblies., • High level of attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy., • Ability to work under a microscope or magnifier for extended periods while maintaining focus and precision., • Basic computer skills, including navigating software programs, using web-based tools, and working with spreadsheets., • Basic Excel skills for documentation and data entry related to inspection activities., • Experience using email tools such as Outlook or similar applications for communication., • Advanced reading, writing, and math skills at approximately a 12th-grade level., • Inspection skills with an understanding of PCBA and HLA product builds., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with supervisors and team members., • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following established procedures., • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and customer information at all times., • Ability to complete required Quality Assurance training and obtain QA certification within six months, and maintain certification thereafter., • Basic PC skills including keyboarding, mouse usage, and opening and closing programs and files in MS Windows or Google Workspace., • Capability to sit or stand for long periods of time during a 10- or 12-hour shift., • Manual dexterity and fine motor control to handle PCBs and small components safely and accurately., • Specific vision abilities for close work, including use of computer monitors, keyboards, inspection equipment, and magnification tools, meeting visual acuity requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in electronic assembly, production, or quality control environments., • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints or technical drawings., • Comfort using hand tools in a manufacturing or assembly setting., • Experience in retail, food service, or other manufacturing roles with demonstrated attention to detail and reliability., • Strong attitude toward learning, flexibility, and willingness to grow within a manufacturing organization., • Interest in building a long-term career in electronics manufacturing and quality assurance., • Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization and continuous improvement practices., • Experience working with quality systems or data entry in manufacturing-related software., • Ability to adapt to different shifts and schedules, including day, swing, and weekend shifts., • Comfort performing repetitive computer tasks in various quality and production software tools. Work Environment The role is based in a large electro-mechanical manufacturing facility with a sizable permanent and contract workforce. The environment offers suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a repetitive low to moderate noise level. Work takes place in a production setting that includes testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging. Multiple shift options are available, including 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.), 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.), A Shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.), C Shift (every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.), and D Shift (every other Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m., with a modified schedule as needed). Employees may sit or stand during their 10- or 12-hour shifts, but standing is required for portions of the work. The position requires the use of personal protective equipment and involves handling PCBs, using magnifiers, microscopes, and other vision systems, as well as working around material-handling and lifting equipment. Tasks demand physical stamina, strong manual dexterity, fine motor control, and acute near vision for detailed visual inspection. The role also includes repetitive computer-based tasks in various software systems to support quality documentation and production processes, within a clean, organized, and safety-focused manufacturing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
