Adecco Permanent Recruitment is hiring an Outside Sales Representative for a well-established wholesale produce distribution company serving foodservice distributors, broadline distributors, wholesale produce buyers, hospitality organizations, food processors, institutional dining, and commercial foodservice customers throughout the Northeast. This is a field-based sales position focused on developing new business across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Northern New Jersey, the Albany region, and surrounding markets. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who thrives on opening new doors, building long-term customer relationships, and growing market share. While this position begins as an individual contributor, our client is making a significant investment in expanding its commercial sales organization and views this role as the foundation for future sales leadership opportunities. **Field-Based/Remote – Candidates should reside within Connecticut or a nearby location that provides convenient access to the Northeast territory, including I-95, I-91, and the Massachusetts Turnpike. Responsibilities: • Develop new business opportunities throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Northern New Jersey, the Albany region, and surrounding Northeast markets., • Prospect, qualify, and secure new wholesale customers across foodservice distribution, broadline distribution, wholesale produce, hospitality, food manufacturing, institutional dining, and commercial food organizations., • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers while expanding market share within established distribution lanes., • Conduct regular in-person customer visits, networking events, industry conferences, trade shows, and sales meetings to generate new business opportunities., • Develop and execute territory growth strategies focused on increasing revenue, expanding customer penetration, and strengthening long-term partnerships., • Collaborate closely with purchasing, operations, executive leadership, and internal support teams to deliver exceptional customer service and strategic account development., • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity, pipeline updates, forecasts, and opportunity tracking., • Work alongside senior leadership on pricing discussions, strategic opportunities, and large account development while serving as the primary relationship manager., • Represent the company professionally throughout the territory while acting as a trusted advisor to customers and industry partners., • Travel extensively throughout established distribution corridors including I-95, I-91, the Massachusetts Turnpike, and surrounding Northeast markets. Qualifications: • 2+ years of successful outside B2B sales, account management, business development, or customer-facing sales experience., • Proven success generating new business through prospecting, networking, cold outreach, and relationship development., • Hunter mentality with a passion for opening new accounts and building long-term customer relationships., • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills., • Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing a large multi-state sales territory., • Experience utilizing CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications., • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, field-based sales environment with significant customer interaction and travel., • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation., • Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience within wholesale produce, foodservice distribution, broadline distribution, food manufacturing, hospitality, or related industries., • Existing relationships with foodservice distributors, wholesale buyers, hospitality organizations, commercial food companies, or institutional dining organizations., • Knowledge of produce, including product quality, grading, seasonality, and wholesale distribution practices., • Experience representing a company independently in a consultative, relationship-focused sales environment., • Strong networking abilities with a proven track record of developing business through industry relationships.
