Job DescriptionJob Title: Microbiology SupervisorJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Microbiology Services Assistant Manager to support microbiology operations, quality systems, client services, and staff development within a regulated cGMP/GLP environment. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing Microbiology Analysts and Technicians while ensuring laboratory performance, compliance, and operational excellence. Responsibilities • Manage microbiology testing activities, including study scheduling, execution, data review, and reporting., • Ensure compliance with cGMP, GLP, USP, European Pharmacopoeia, AAMI, and internal quality standards., • Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to support study development, execution, and issue resolution., • Drive continuous improvement of SOPs, test methods, study protocols, and laboratory processes., • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate laboratory personnel., • Coordinate staffing, equipment, training, and resources to support efficient laboratory operations., • Support quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, audits, and equipment maintenance activities., • Promote a client-focused culture and uphold high standards of service delivery.Essential Skills, • Environmental monitoring, • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), • Bioburden testing, • Quality controlAdditional Skills & Qualifications, • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related field., • Minimum of 4 years of microbiology laboratory experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, CRO, or related industries., • Strong knowledge of microbiological testing, sterility assurance, USP, European Pharmacopoeia, AAMI, cGMP, and GLP requirements., • Previous leadership, supervisory, project management, or team lead experience is preferred., • Expertise in microbiological and sterility testing methodologies., • Proficiency with aseptic technique, serial dilutions, Gram staining, media preparation, microbial culturing and identification, sterilization equipment operation, bioburden testing, radiation dose setting, and cleaning/disinfection validation., • Strong analytical, problem-solving, data interpretation, and communication skills.Work Environment This position requires onsite work five days a week in Hercules, with a schedule of 7:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hercules, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $60.09/hr.
