You arrive, verify symptoms with test equipment, consult the manufacturer’s manual, and pinpoint a failing component in a 4‑cylinder system. You explain options, present a clear estimate, order parts, and coordinate with vendors—getting the team back in action. That blend of technical precision, customer communication, and teamwork is the essence of this role. Your impact • Diagnose and repair commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface‑prep equipment end‑to‑end., • Service a wide range of gear: 2‑/3‑/4‑cylinder gas engines; truck‑mounted carpet cleaning units; portable carpet extractors; hard‑surface floor machines; duct cleaning equipment; deodorizing systems; dehumidifiers; air scrubbers; air movers; HEPA vacuums—enhanced by your basic automotive experience., • Leverage testing tools, troubleshooting guides, and OEM repair manuals correctly and efficiently., • Assess equipment thoroughly and communicate additional service needs proactively., • Consistently achieve service department quality and productivity benchmarks., • Follow supervisor direction; partner closely with technicians and store teams., • Support teammates and store staff to keep work flowing smoothly., • Protect and maintain shop tools; keep your bay clean, organized, and safe., • Open service orders, schedule and manage appointments in our software, and keep customers informed by phone, email, and in person., • Develop repair bids and present professional estimates to customers., • Balance shop workload with other techs; procure parts and collaborate with vendors., • Coordinate service activities with other store employees to meet deadlines. Hourly Pay $21 /hr. + Monthly Bonus What it takes to succeed • 2+ years preferred across: commercial cleaning/restoration equipment, small engine repair/maintenance, pressure washer repair/maintenance, or vehicle repair/maintenance., • Valid driver license and clean driving record (No DUIs or Careless/Reckless on MVR within 3 years)., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Personal basic mechanic’s tool kit., • High technical skill, mechanical aptitude, and meticulous attention to detail., • Efficient, accurate diagnosis and problem solving., • Safety mindset: always use safety glasses, hearing protection, and required PPE., • Ability to deliver quality work on time and routinely lift 50+ lbs., • Professional demeanor; strong written and verbal communication; basic computer skills., • Comfort with occasional overtime., • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
