Job DescriptionJob Title: Material Handler Location: Wayne, New Jersey Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift Pay Range: $15-16.50/hr Clearance: Job Description: We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to support receiving, inventory management, material distribution, and shipping operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will ensure materials are accurately received, inspected, stored, and delivered to support production schedules while maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance with company quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a hands-on warehouse or manufacturing setting. This position plays a vital role in ensuring materials move efficiently throughout the facility to support engineering, manufacturing, and shipping operations. Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation., • Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quantity, and shipping damage before processing receipts., • Accurately enter receiving and inventory transactions into company systems., • Prepare and verify production assembly kits using pick lists to meet scheduled manufacturing release dates., • Pick inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices while verifying lot numbers, date codes, solderability dates, and material quantities as required., • Support engineering and production teams by responding to material requests and resolving material shortages., • Deliver assembly kits, point-of-use (POU) materials, and work-in-process (WIP) inventory to designated production areas., • Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy., • Maintain inventory records and investigate inventory discrepancies when identified., • Operate manual material handling equipment, hand tools, and powered equipment to safely transport materials throughout the facility., • Ensure materials are properly identified, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable safety standards., • Support shipping operations by preparing routing requests, Government Bills of Lading, commercial bills of lading, airbills, barcoded labels, and other transportation documentation., • Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation while supporting domestic and international shipping activities., • Assist with export compliance activities, including adherence to ITAR and other applicable shipping regulations., • Conduct routine inspections of materials, equipment, storage locations, and controlled areas while following established procedures., • Perform additional warehouse, inventory, and material handling duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED., • Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, receiving, inventory control, shipping, or manufacturing is preferred., • Experience working with inventory systems, computerized tracking systems, or ERP software., • Ability to accurately verify shipments and maintain inventory records., • Basic computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office applications., • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail., • Ability to safely lift, move, and transport materials throughout the facility using manual or powered material handling equipment., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience supporting manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or electronics production environments., • Familiarity with FIFO inventory management, work-in-process (WIP), and production kitting., • Experience with shipping and receiving documentation, including Bills of Lading and transportation paperwork., • Knowledge of ITAR, export compliance, or regulated shipping requirements., • Experience performing cycle counts, inventory audits, and physical inventories., • Forklift, pallet jack, or other powered industrial equipment experience (if applicable).
