Job Summary The Sommelier is responsible for delivering an exceptional wine and beverage experience that complements the world-class dining experience at CUT Las Vegas. This role provides expert wine recommendations, assists guests with thoughtful food and wine pairings, and supports the execution of the restaurant's wine program. The Sommelier partners closely with the Head Sommelier and leadership team to maintain wine inventory, uphold service standards, and foster a culture of beverage knowledge and hospitality throughout the restaurant. Essential Job Functions • Deliver exceptional guest service by providing personalized wine recommendations and food pairing suggestions., • Guide guests through the wine list while identifying opportunities to enhance the dining experience through beverage sales., • Support beverage revenue goals while maintaining responsible beverage cost awareness., • Assist with monitoring wine inventory, cellar organization, stock levels, and daily par levels., • Ensure proper storage, handling, and service temperatures for all wines., • Support the maintenance and presentation of the restaurant's wine collection in accordance with Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group standards., • Assist with receiving, organizing, rotating, and restocking wine inventory., • Maintain thorough knowledge of the wine list, spirits, cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings., • Participate in ongoing beverage education and assist in training team members on wine knowledge, service standards, and food and wine pairing recommendations., • Stay informed on current wine regions, varietals, producers, and industry trends to enhance the guest experience., • Maintain exceptional standards of service, professionalism, and hospitality at all times., • Consistently solicit and respond to guest feedback to ensure an outstanding dining experience., • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications, • Previous sommelier experience (2 + years) in a high-volume fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, or comparable hospitality environment., • Strong knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, producers, and wine service standards., • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and engage guests., • Passion for hospitality with a warm, professional, and approachable demeanor., • Ability to manage multiple guest interactions while maintaining exceptional attention to detail., • Wine certification through Court of Master Sommeliers, Wine & Spirit Education Trust, or equivalent preferred., • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a fine dining environment. Work Conditions: May require evening and weekend hours. While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works in an indoor front of restaurant and kitchen environment with exposure to heat from ovens, hot foods and steamers and cleaning chemicals, fumes, equipment, and metal objects. You will usually be based indoors, splitting your time between the front of the restaurant and the kitchen. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud dependent on specific work site and/or equipment operation.
