All personnel are responsible for the safety of these products, which includes participation in training, following cGMP and feed/food safety requirements in the facility, and following procedures per instruction of management. Job Purpose: This position is responsible for effectively operating the plant equipment to ensure the quality and quantity of CO2 production is optimized. The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management may modify this job description as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Monitors and controls machinery in the CO2 plant that captures, purifies, liquefies and stores carbon dioxide. Does this in a manner where quality specifications are met and output is maximized, based on established procedures or following directions of the manager or coordinator., • Uses automated systems to regulate gas flow, temperatures and pressures., • At times may help with routine maintenance and help troubleshoot mechanical issues. Expected to act as a resource during scheduled and non-scheduled shutdowns., • Responsible for monitoring real-time quality specifications and responding promptly based on established procedures or following directions of the manager or coordinator to ensure CO2 product maintains quality specifications., • Responsible for certifying final product tanks, creating BOL’s for bulk truck loading and overseeing the safe loading of bulk CO2 trucks, • Completes daily shift production logs., • Is a member of the Food Safety team and strictly adheres to the requirements., • Investigates, monitors and reports deviations from production standards., • Operates the plant in accordance with all applicable production and safety regulation and reports all variance., • Assist in audits as necessary., • At times engage in communication with the ethanol facility when CO2 plant is experiencing nonstandard processing., • At times flexible schedule when needed., • Performs routine housekeeping at the CO2 plant to ensure Food Safety requirements. Education, Experience and Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalency., • Minimum one-year process and equipment experience., • Excellent computer skills; familiarity with operation software., • Excellent hand-eye coordination; safety cautious., • Experience working with lab testers and plant equipment., • Ability to follow directions and work well with little supervision., • Excellent written and oral communication skills., • Driver’s license., • Ability to safely and effectively coordinate multiple projects/tasks., • Bilingual skills are (English/Spanish) preferred., • Must have the ability to work different shifts and overtime. This includes the possibility of short-term and long-term shift reassignment to match the needs of the business. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures; work around dust, fumes, and/or moderate to loud noises., • Able to lift, pull, carry, and pick up objects weighing up to 50 pounds., • Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for climbing stairs and ladders, sitting, walking on paved and unpaved surfaces, and standing for prolonged periods of time; operating a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bending, stooping, and reaching., • Able to climb stairs and ladders; walk on paved and unpaved surfaces; sit at a desk and operate a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear, speak, and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend, stoop, stand, and reach., • Able to work in environment that involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
