Job DescriptionJob Title: Warehouse AssociateJob Description The Shipping and Warehouse Associates will be the foundation of a well-run, organized department, being fully cross-trained and conversant in safely performing all tasks relating to both the shipping and warehouse functions. These associates will be flexible, have a keen awareness of the importance of inventory accuracy, and work well as an individual contributor or as part of a team. Responsibilities • Receive incoming inventory and transfer to the required location, both physically and in the Visual system., • Perform inventory picking and transfer to the required location employing the safe operation of a forklift as needed., • Conduct daily cycle counting to confirm inventory accuracy., • Enter data into the Visual and computer systems., • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment., • Advise the department manager and/or lead of inventory discrepancies between the system and physical count., • Prepare outbound customer order shipments, working with logistics on all international shipments., • Monitor inventory levels in replenishment bins at all points of use inventory locations., • Inspect all incoming material shipments for purchase order accuracy, quality defects, and shipping damage, and work with QA and purchasing to resolve issues., • Conduct basic scheduled maintenance on warehouse equipment., • Ensure attention to detail on all system inventory transactions., • Properly process RMA’s as needed, working with QA., • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.Essential Skills, • 1–2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, cycle counts, data entry., • Experience in the safe operation of a forklift., • Functional knowledge of the Visual and computer systems and MS Office products.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a dynamic team environment., • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in the production flow., • Great attention to detail and the ability to multi-task., • Good verbal and written English communication skills combined with good organizational skills, and strong problem-solving abilities., • Good basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure., • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment., • Excellent performance as an individual contributor and team player.Why Work Here? Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. Employees are regularly exposed to vibration and occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Melville, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
