Job Description The Adjunctive Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and conducting therapy programs. Instructs or supervises patients in recreational activities as part of a therapeutic psychiatric treatment program. This position will work four 10 hour days. Responsibilities • Plan, implement, and direct therapeutic recreational programs and activities for patients., • Develop treatment plan to meet needs of patient, based on needs assessment, patient interests and objectives of therapy., • Conduct therapy sessions to improve patients’ mental and physical well-being., • Observe, analyze, and record patients’ participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions, modifying treatment programs as needed., • Document patient’s progress or regression during their activities., • Counsel and encourage patients to develop leisure activities., • Instruct patients in activities and techniques, such as sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques, designed to meet their specific physical or psychological needs., • Encourage patients with special needs and circumstances to acquire new skills and get involved in healthy leisure activities., • Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team that consults with other health care professionals in determining a total treatment plan and recommend changes based on individual observations and evaluations., • Keeps current on therapeutic resources available to best help the patients., • Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards., • This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Requirements Education/Licensure • Bachelors in Fitness, Art, or related field, • Licensed CRTS/ART therapy/Dance therapy/Music Therapy/Occupational Therapy is required, • All direct patient care staff will be trained in BLS (CPR), which must be renewed every 2 years., • All staff, both clinical and non-clinical, will be trained in CPI as part of their orientation. All direct patient care staff will be retrained every year.
