Job DescriptionJob Title: Research Study ManagerJob Description The Research Study Manager oversees day-to-day clinical research operations across multiple oncology sites, ensuring high-quality execution of clinical trials, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination of research activities. This role supervises clinical research coordinators and workflow, partners closely with physicians and site teams, and drives the growth of oncology clinical research programs through strong leadership, operational excellence, and strategic support for study selection, recruitment, and data management. Responsibilities • Oversee the day-to-day clinical research operations for assigned oncology locations, ensuring smooth and efficient conduct of clinical trials., • Supervise clinical research coordinators and other team members, including assigning workload, monitoring performance, and supporting professional development., • Manage and coordinate disease-specific research groups, ensuring appropriate staffing, prioritization, and alignment with study requirements., • Partner with physicians to educate them on available studies, assist in selecting appropriate trials, and explain feasibility considerations for each site., • Collaborate with site teams to oversee oncology research activities, meeting teams where they are in their processes and helping them align with central research standards., • Support physicians in identifying and selecting trials that match patient populations, site capabilities, and institutional priorities., • Review and interpret clinical trial protocols, ensuring that research staff understand study requirements, timelines, and operational expectations., • Develop, refine, and support site-level screening processes to improve patient identification, enrollment, and retention in oncology trials., • Communicate and promote services that support and enable the growth of clinical research, particularly in recruitment, retention, coordination of research, and data management., • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and institutional policies related to clinical research, including documentation, reporting, and compliance activities., • Coordinate with regulatory, data management, and other research support teams to maintain high standards of data quality and regulatory readiness., • Monitor study progress, identify operational challenges, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and study performance., • Foster a collaborative, supportive environment among clinical research coordinators, physicians, and other stakeholders involved in oncology research.Essential Skills, • Demonstrated experience supervising clinical research coordinators and managing workflow in a clinical research setting., • Prior hands-on oncology clinical research experience, including work as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC)., • 5–7 years of oncology experience in clinical research or related roles., • At least 2 years of supervisory experience leading research staff or clinical operations teams., • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, including coordination, data management, and regulatory compliance., • Ability to interpret and understand clinical trial protocols and translate requirements into operational plans., • Proven experience in clinical research roles such as Clinical Research Coordinator, Clinical Research Supervisor, Clinical Operations professional, or Research Program Manager., • Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline., • Effective communication skills to partner with physicians, site teams, and cross-functional research staff., • Ability to develop and support patient screening and enrollment strategies for oncology trials.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working within an oncology-focused research environment, such as a cancer institute or comprehensive cancer center., • Background in coordinating or supervising multiple disease-specific research groups or programs., • Experience collaborating with regulatory affairs teams and clinical research management to support compliant and efficient trial conduct., • Capability to influence and align site teams that may be at different levels of research maturity or independence., • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple studies and priorities across different locations., • Comfort working in roles similar to Clinical Research Manager or Research Program Manager within oncology., • Interest in contributing to the growth and development of an expanding clinical research program.Work Environment This role is based within a cancer-focused research environment that includes a designated cancer institute setting with a robust clinical research infrastructure. The organization employs more than 200 professionals across a variety of specialties, including Clinical Research Coordinators, Regulatory Affairs staff, Clinical Research Managers, Nurse Managers, and research leadership. The Research Study Manager works as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing oncology clinical trials, collaborating closely with physicians, site research staff, and central research administration. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hamilton, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $58.00/hr.
