DoodyCalls of Central Suffolk is hiring Pet Waste Removal Technicians (Field Service Technicians) to join our trusted team of professional “pooper scoopers” serving Suffolk County, NY. We now have rolling hiring for part-time and per diem technicians. These are driving, route-based, outdoor field service positions. In this role, you’ll run assigned routes, keep residential and commercial properties clean and safe, and deliver the kind of dependable, detail-oriented service our customers rave about (check out our reviews on Google and our web page!). What You’ll “Doo” The job won't always be glamorous—but it is important, appreciated, and oddly satisfying! • Route-Based Service: Drive following assigned daily routes using a GPS-enabled mobile app to service residential and commercial properties., • Property Cleanup: Thoroughly remove pet and animal waste from yards and common areas, ensuring properties are left clean, secure, and gates are properly closed., • Waste Handling: Dispose of waste properly according to company standards and customer preferences., • Customer & Pet Interaction: Communicate professionally with customers and safely around dogs of all sizes and temperaments., • Daily Reporting: Use a mobile app clock in and out, manage daily routes, log job completion, provide notes and photos, and communicate updates to customers and the office., • Professional Standards: Maintain a clean company vehicle, neat uniform, sanitized equipment, and follow all safety and cleanliness protocols. What We’re Looking For • Schedule Availability: For part-time and per-diem roles, days and hours may vary. We primarily do our "doody" Monday–Friday starting around 7:00 AM. Some weekend mornings may be available to those interested., • Dependability: Punctual, accountable, and trustworthy. This is an independent role with minimal direct supervision, so strong time management and personal accountability are essential., • Independence & Teamwork: While you’ll work independently from day-to-day, you’ll be part of a growing collaborative team that supports each other and shares pride in the work., • Animal Lover: Comfortable, confident, and safe around dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities., • Physical Ability: Comfortable working on your feet all day, walking 8–10 miles (12,000–16,000 steps) daily, and lifting 20–50 lbs., • All-Weather Ready: This role is year-round, with seasonal stability—must be willing and able to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and snow., • Detail-Oriented: Takes pride in doing the job thoroughly and correctly every time, with an eye for safety, cleanliness, and those extra touches that delight customers—because nothing ruins a clean yard like one forgotten pile!, • Driver Requirements: Valid NYS driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation to and from our centralized starting location currently in Miller Place (you’ll drive a company car for your routes after clocking in)., • Comfortable with Tech: Able to use a smartphone for GPS navigation, scheduling, reporting, and communication., • Positive Attitude: Friendly, upbeat, and a sense of humor is a big plus—quirkiness welcome!, • Preferred Experience: Previous field and service work (e.g., landscaping, delivery, route work, warehouse, construction) is a plus but not required. This Role Is a Great Fit If You: • Enjoy independent, physical work, • Take pride in consistency and reliability, • Prefer being outdoors over working behind a desk, • Love all dogs (and most people), • Don't mind cleaning up other creatures' messes ;) This Role May Not Be a Fit If You: • Dislike physical or outdoor work, • Prefer working in a highly collaborative or closely supervised environment, • Prefer irregular schedules or late night jobs, • Are fearful of some dogs, • Get grossed out easily A Day in the Life A typical day starts with you arriving at our central location in Miller Place, loading up the company vehicle, running your assigned route, interacting with occasional friendly pups and people, and finishing mid- to late-afternoon knowing every yard you visited is clean, safe, customer-approved— and significantly less… aromatic!
