ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY We are hiring for a part-time Bellperson to join our Guest Services Team. The Bellperson is passionate about the hospitality industry and demonstrates strength in service. This position is responsible for greeting and welcoming all guests and patrons in a courteous, professional and efficient manner and assisting with the transportation of luggage from the reception area to guestrooms and vice versa. Candidates interested in applying must be willing and available to work shifts on: Mondays & Tuesdays from 12:00pm-8:30pm. WHAT YOU’LL DO The Bellperson must complete all tasks and assignments assigned by the Manager of Guest Services, including but not limited to: • Secure luggage from all incoming guests upon check in; obtain room key and escort guests to room., • Place luggage in respective areas in guestrooms, i.e. on luggage rack, in closet etc., • Assist all departing guests with luggage transport from guestroom to front entrance., • Familiarize all guests with room amenities including temperature control unit, remote controlled television, mini bar, etc., • Inform guests of all hotel facilities including the hours of operation of the restaurants, lounges and health club., • Ensure prompt professional response to all guest requests for service., • Store and retrieve luggage from bell closet as needed while regularly logging such activity., • Deliver any miscellaneous items i.e. flowers, packages, brochures, etc. to guestrooms, banquet rooms or hotel offices as directed., • Assist guests with directions and other information., • Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, evening shifts and holidays., • Perform additional duties and assist with additional projects & assignments as needed. WHAT YOU'LL NEED • At least one (1) or more years of experience in valet, doorperson, or bellman areas required. Preferably with previous guest services’ experience in an upscale Hotel environment., • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with a team., • Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills., • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language., • Must be familiar with the local area., • Ability to transport (pull, push) up to 50 lbs. POSITION SUMMARY Respond to Residence owners' and their guests' requests for visitor information, special arrangements, or services (e.g., transportation, reservations, dry cleaning) by making arrangements or identifying appropriate providers. Respond to special requests from Residence owners and their guests with unique needs and follow up to promote satisfaction. Gather, summarize, and provide information to Residence owners and their guests about the property and the surrounding area amenities, including special events and activities. Announce all visitors, contractors, etc. to Residence owners before allowing them to go up and permit access to only authorize visitors and implement into the key track system. Answer, record, and process all calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns. Contact appropriate individual or department (e.g., Engineer, Bellperson, Housekeeping) as necessary to resolve call, request, or problem. Understand and assist with owners' reservation services (HRS). Assist with scheduling of the elevator for move-in/out for Residence owners/tenants. Assist with Bell/valet services for owners when requesting for their vehicles. Perform Lobby Ambassador tasks. Review shift logs/daily memo books and document pertinent information in logbooks. Report any incidents, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Follow all company policies and procedures, ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all Residence owners and their guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank others with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language, prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested. Adhere to the highest standards of The Ritz-Carlton service excellence. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
