Job Summary The General Laborer is responsible for supporting daily production operations within the plant. This position performs general manual labor duties and may be assigned to support the Dock, TDF line, Grade line, Mulch line, or Crumb line, rather than working directly on these lines. Additionally, some roles may involve supporting the general site, such as porter positions, to assist with overall facility needs. The role supports machine operation, material handling, housekeeping, and overall plant safety and efficiency. This position requires physical work in an industrial environment and the ability to follow established safety and operating procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform general labor functions throughout the facility in assigned production areas, including the Dock, TDF, Grade, Mulch, and Crumb lines, • Assist with production and granulation processes by ensuring proper material flow and supporting machine operation, • Load and unload raw materials and finished product from trailers, pallets, and production areas, • Move, stack, and transport materials and finished goods to designated locations within the plant, • Properly stack bags on pallets and prepare product for shipment, including wrapping, capping, tagging, and labeling, • Perform routine cleaning of machines, equipment, floors, and work areas using approved methods, • Maintain general housekeeping to ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment, • Monitor production areas for issues such as blockages, spills, or unsafe conditions and report concerns to supervision, • Assist maintenance personnel by retrieving tools and providing basic support as directed, • Operate skid steer, forklift, or man lift if trained, authorized, and required for the assignment, • Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of PPE, adherence to safety procedures, and LOTO practices, • Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and a cooperative working relationship with coworkers and supervisors, • Perform other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities: • Ability to regularly lift, twist, and stack up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items, • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods, • Ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures, • Ability to recognize safety hazards and report unsafe conditions, • Willingness to learn new tasks and rotate between work areas as assigned Educational and Experience Requirements: • Prior experience in manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environments is a plus but not required Working Environment: • This position is performed in a tire recycling and manufacturing environment regularly work with used tires, heavy materials, and production equipment. The role requires frequent lifting, carrying, stacking, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods. Exposure to dust, odors, noise, and varying weather conditions may occur. Proper use of required personal protective equipment is mandatory at all times.
