Job Description Job Title Sr. Product Engineer Job Description The Sr. Product Engineer serves as the technical owner of a major product line and drives key engineering decisions across mechanical design, controls, manufacturing, and service functions. This role provides expert guidance to cross-functional teams, supports product improvements and troubleshooting, and shapes the long-term strategy for highly customized, industry-leading food processing equipment. The position offers high visibility, significant influence on revenue-generating products, and the opportunity to become a long-term subject matter expert within a growing organization. Responsibilities • Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for an assigned product line, ensuring performance, reliability, and continuous improvement., • Provide engineering guidance and technical direction across Mechanical, Controls, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Service teams to align designs and solutions with business and customer needs., • Review mechanical designs, electrical schematics, and equipment layouts to support sound engineering decisions and ensure design integrity., • Evaluate controls, instrumentation, and overall system functionality to determine optimal solutions for both customers and the business., • Support product improvements by identifying opportunities for design enhancements, cost reductions, and performance optimization., • Lead and support troubleshooting efforts for complex equipment and system issues, collaborating closely with internal teams and customers., • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to solve complex engineering challenges and translate requirements into robust technical solutions., • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to long-term product strategy, including new technology adoption and platform evolution., • Work on highly customized industrial food processing equipment, ensuring designs meet industry standards and customer specifications., • Serve as a technical resource and mentor across engineering teams, sharing best practices and developing engineering capabilities., • Own and manage major engineering projects, equipment platforms, or product lines from concept through implementation and lifecycle support., • Collaborate regularly with production and design floor teams to monitor active projects, equipment builds, and product performance. Skills and Qualifications Required • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering., • 8+ years of engineering experience., • Mechanical design and equipment engineering experience., • Experience reviewing mechanical drawings and electrical schematics., • Exposure to controls, automation, instrumentation, or electrical systems., • Experience in product management or project management within an engineering environment., • Experience with microwave processing, thermal processing, food processing equipment, industrial ovens, heat transfer systems, or related equipment (highly preferred but not required)., • Experience working on highly customized industrial equipment and solutions., • Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and technology roadmaps., • Interest in becoming a long-term subject matter expert for a major product line in a growing organization. Work Environment Product Engineer spends regular time on the production and design floor, engaging with active projects and equipment builds to ensure technical integrity and alignment with requirements. The position operates within a highly collaborative environment focused on designing and building customized, industry-leading food processing equipment and industrial machinery, using tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD along with control systems and electrical schematics. Travel expectations are modest, at approximately 10%, primarily for customer needs, project support, equipment installations, and engineering evaluations. Most travel is domestic, with occasional international trips depending on the product line and customer location, and overall travel is not expected to exceed 25%. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lodi, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
