Were looking for an exceptional Maintenance Support Technician who wants to make a difference and who thrives in challenging, fast-paced, maintenance environments.This role will predominantly cover the Counties of East Sussex & Kent, based out of our new Hastings depot; but will form part of a wider national directorate. You'll become an essential member of the Direct Services department, providing a comprehensive, efficient, and responsive property repairs and maintenance service for our residents. You'll work as part of a tight-knit team, supporting other technicians, operational support staff, managers, and other colleagues around the organisation, effectively from job issue through to completion of works, providing final quality assurance. You'll successfully deliver works to a high quality, as detailed within digitised orders, fulfilling our first-time fix, appointment objectives, and resident satisfaction criteria, with efficient but safe working practices, and value for money in mind always.What Youll be Doing:As a part of our Sussex team, based out of our new depot in Burgess Road, Hastings, you will help Southern Housing maintain our properties, estates and neighbourhoods by completing works including:Fencing Repairs & Installations.Bulk Waste / Fly-Tip Collection and Disposal.Garden Clearances and some basic Grounds Maintenance.Facilities / Office Maintenance and Repairs.Garage Inspections, Lock Changes, Maintenance, and Clearances.Graffiti Removal and Jet Washing.Play Area Inspections, Installations, Repairs, and Maintenance.You may also be asked to complete various inspections and surveys for the above works. And work as a second, supportive colleague to our teams of Multi-Trade Technicians.What Youll Need:You must be customer focused, having great interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.Customer Satisfaction will be a priority whilst working Productively with Value for Money in mind.You will also need the ability to work alone at times, be self-motivated and able to solve technical problems as they arise on site.Working safely is paramount, and you would be required to complete, understand and follow detailed, written Risk Assessments at all times.A good level of numeracy and literacy is important to keep auditable records of works completed, equipment and materials used, and safety.A working knowledge and ability of using mobile devices is paramount as all jobs are digitised.You will be required to drive up to 3.5 tonne fleet and other various, smaller vehicles daily, both safely and legally.Previous experience of working within a Social Housing or a similar, customer focused, environment would also be beneficial.Technical skills within the above specified areas of work would be beneficial, but not a necessity as training will be provided. And any additional technical skills that may enable us to expand our services in the future would also be of interest.Ultimately, we are looking to recruit the right person, with the right passion, character and motivation to learn and improve.The role is predominantly site based, working daily out of our new hub at Burgess Road in Hastings, East Sussex. We envisage the successful applicant working 40 hours, 08:00 17:00, Monday through Friday.As this role requires you to travel across Sussex and on occasion into other regions you will be supplied with a Southern Housing fleet vehicle for working purposes only. However, you will need to be over the age of 21, with a full and valid UK driving licence and a minimum 2 years driving experience, and no major offences over the past 10 years. Your main power tools and equipment, plus uniform and PPE will also be provided.
