FindCore are thrilled to be assisting a specialist heritage construction and restoration business with the recruitment of a Project Manager – Heritage Works. \n Permanent position. This role will be based in Penkridge, Staffordshire, with travel to project sites as required. \n This is a practical, hands-on position within a small specialist contractor, managing heritage, refurbishment and conservation-led projects rather than large main-contractor developments. \n \n Salary \n £45,000–£50,000 (Higher salary can be discussed dependent on suitable experience), depending on experience + potential vehicle or vehicle allowance + possible performance-related benefits \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Take day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of small heritage and refurbishment projects.\n, • Manage two small works teams, including two Team Leaders and approximately eight employees overall.\n, • Plan and sequence projects, typically valued at around £40,000.\n, • Turn agreed scopes of work into practical and achievable site delivery plans.\n, • Ensure labour, materials, subcontractors and site access arrangements are in place.\n, • Monitor project progress, quality, safety and costs against agreed expectations.\n, • Maintain accurate site records, photographs, task updates and progress reports.\n, • Ensure RAMS, task instructions and site-control procedures are followed.\n, • Identify potential issues early and escalate significant concerns to the Managing Director.\n, • Communicate professionally with clients, consultants, suppliers and other stakeholders.\n, • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to support effective project delivery.\n, • Promote high standards of workmanship, organisation, cleanliness and site discipline.\n, • Use project-management and compliance software to record labour, tasks, photographs, quality checks and site progress.\n, • Ensure Team Leaders and site operatives consistently follow the company’s digital processes.\n, • Support the continued development and improvement of project-delivery systems.\n\n \n Skills & Experience \n\n • Previous experience managing construction, refurbishment or small works projects.\n, • Experience supervising tradespeople, Team Leaders or small site teams.\n, • Strong practical understanding of construction-site delivery.\n, • Heritage, listed building or conservation experience would be highly advantageous.\n\n \n Prefered skills & experience but not essential \n\n • Experience within traditional building repair, specialist refurbishment or high-end residential projects would be beneficial.\n, • Knowledge of traditional materials or techniques, including lime, stone, timber, roofing or windows, would be advantageous.\n, • Confident managing practical site teams within a small or medium-sized contractor.\n, • Good understanding of health and safety, RAMS and site-compliance requirements.\n, • SMSTS or SSSTS qualification would be advantageous.\n, • CSCS card is expected.\n\n What’s on Offer \n\n • Salary of £45,000–£50,000, depending on experience.\n, • Potential company vehicle or vehicle allowance.\n, • Possible performance-related element for the right candidate.\n, • Opportunity to manage varied heritage, restoration and refurbishment projects.\n, • Hands-on role with direct responsibility for two established small works teams.\n, • Opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director and influence how projects are delivered.\n, • Long-term position within a specialist and practical heritage contractor.\n, • Supportive working environment where practical experience and sound judgement are valued.\n, • Opportunity to help shape and improve the company’s project-management and digital site systems.\n\n \n For further information on this opportunity, or any other jobs, please apply via the link below or contact FindCore in the strictest confidence.
