You will have the opportunity to manage your own caseload of projects, and to develop specialist skills in areas you find particularly interesting. \n Role Profile - Graduate Planning Consultant \n The role will suit somebody who has recently graduated or is due to graduate, or alternatively, if you are somebody who has a few years' experience. This role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of projects, from householder and rural diversification schemes through to major residential, commercial and strategic development proposals. You will develop a strong foundation in planning consultancy, gaining experience in client management, project delivery, planning strategy and development management. \n Role Responsibilities - Graduate Planning Consultant \n\n • Undertaking planning research, report writing and the preparation of planning submissions to support a wide range of client projects. \n, • Managing smaller planning applications and projects, whilst supporting senior colleagues on larger and more complex developments.\n, • Preparing planning statements, appraisals and other professional reports.\n, • Liaising with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders throughout the planning process. \n, • Providing a high standard of client service to a diverse client base including householders, farmers, developers, investors and landed estates. \n, • Attending site visits and assisting with the provision of planning advice and recommendations. \n, • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Berrys' planning, surveying, architectural and engineering teams to deliver integrated consultancy services. \n, • Developing professional knowledge and progressing towards RTPI membership through ongoing training and development opportunities. \n\n Person Specification - Graduate Planning ConsultantWe are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, dynamic and motivated individual with a “can-do” attitude, who has: \n\n • Undergraduate degree in town planning or a related subject (e.g. Geography)\n, • Desire to work towards Master's Degree/ Professional (RTPI) Qualifications\n, • Confident manner and willingness to learn from others\n, • Proactive and diligent\n, • Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook\n, • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision\n, • Excellent written English and problem-solving abilities\n, • Full UK driving licence and access to a car\n\n We will support the right candidate through a Masters degree including day release to attend in person sessions and fund your attendance at relevant CPD events and approved training. \n Hours: 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly Monday-Friday, to be worked in line with our Agile Working Philosophy \n Benefits - Graduate Planning Consultant \n\n • The role sits within a friendly and supportive team with opportunities to develop.\n, • We will offer an excellent salary for the right candidate reflective of your skills, qualifications and experience \n, • We provide Private Healthcare scheme for all via AXA\n, • We have an Employee Assistance Programme, including a health plan and annual flu jab\n, • We provide an entitlement of 35 days holiday per annum (pro rata to working hours) inclusive of bank holidays\n, • An additional day off to celebrate your Birthday\n, • We give an additional day of holiday for every 3 years of service \n, • There is potential for discretionary bonus \n, • We provide an enhanced workplace pension scheme operated through the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST)\n, • Following successful probation period, access to employee loan and employee discount on Berrys services\n, • We offer salary sacrifice schemes for Electric Vehicles and Cycle to Work scheme\n\n Closing Date: 19th August 2026 \n *Please note that we may close this role early, if sufficient applications are received, therefore it is recommended to apply early if you match the criteria.
