\n Health & Safety Advisor\n Health & Safety Advisor – Civil Engineering & Construction \n We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a growing civil engineering and construction business, supporting the safe delivery of a wide range of infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor looking to develop their career within a well-established contractor that places safety, quality, and continuous improvement at the heart of everything it does. \n As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with project teams to promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, and support the successful implementation of ISO 45001 management systems across multiple sites. The Role\n As a Health & Safety Advisor, your responsibilities will include: \n \n • Providing day-to-day health and safety advice and guidance to site management teams.\n, • Promoting a proactive and positive health and safety culture across all projects.\n, • Ensuring compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, company procedures, and client requirements.\n, • Carrying out regular site inspections and audits to monitor standards and identify improvements.\n, • Supporting supervisors with the completion of risk assessments, inspections, briefings, and other safety documentation.\n, • Delivering toolbox talks and health, safety and wellbeing briefings.\n, • Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.\n, • Reviewing RAMS, method statements, and other project documentation to ensure compliance.\n, • Supporting the implementation and ongoing management of the ISO 45001 Safety Management System.\n, • Attending and leading safety meetings where required.\n, • Producing reports and monitoring key health and safety performance indicators.\n, • Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams.\n Requirements\n To be considered for this Health & Safety Advisor position, you should have: \n \n • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within construction or civil engineering.\n, • Recognised Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent).\n, • Valid CSCS Card.\n, • Full UK driving licence.\n, • Strong written and verbal communication skills.\n, • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.\n, • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.\n, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\n Desirable Skills\n \n, • Experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.\n, • Membership of IOSH, IIRSM or another recognised professional body.\n, • Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001 management systems.\n, • Previous experience supporting large infrastructure or utilities projects.\n Personal Attributes\n \n, • Passionate about promoting high standards of health and safety.\n, • Positive, proactive and approachable.\n, • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.\n, • Able to influence and engage teams at all levels.\n, • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative.\n, • Comfortable challenging unsafe behaviours and driving continuous improvement.\n, • Committed to delivering a safe working environment for everyone on site.\n What's on Offer\n \n, • Competitive salary.\n, • Ongoing training and career development.\n, • Company pension scheme.\n, • Income protection.\n, • Life assurance.\n, • Employee assistance programme with 24/7 support.\n, • Employee wellbeing initiatives.\n, • Salary sacrifice schemes.\n, • 25 days annual leave plus public holidays.\n, • Long-term career progression within a growing civil engineering and construction business.\n \n If you're an experienced Health & Safety Advisor looking to join a respected contractor with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional development, we'd love to hear from you. \n
