We are looking for an experienced Yard Manager to join a small team on a full-time, permanent basis in Stratford-upon-Avon. Offering a salary of up to £42,000 including bonus, this is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading supplier to the construction, energy, and utilities sectors. This is a hands-on role, overseeing all yard operations while directly managing a small team of two, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high operational standards at all times. \n Key accountabilities for the Yard Manager: \n\n • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the yard, ensuring efficiency and organisation at all times\n, • Operate and drive telehandlers (valid licence required)\n, • Load and unload articulated vehicles safely and efficiently\n, • Sort, inspect, and manually clean hire and returned products\n, • Manage yard operations and stock, ensuring all procedures and company standards are consistently met\n, • Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational records and documentation\n, • Supervise and support Yard Operatives, including performance management, reviews, and holiday approvals in line with company policy\n, • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and secure working environment\n, • Conduct regular stock checks and ensure inventory accuracy\n, • Arrange servicing, maintenance, and repairs for telehandlers and yard equipment\n, • Manage site requirements including skip changes and sourcing quotes for consumables and minor repairs\n, • Monitor fuel usage and provide accurate data for replenishment\n, • Support senior leadership with the ongoing development and improvement of yard operations\n, • Provide regular updates to senior management on performance, staffing, stock levels, and operational matters\n, • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role\n\n Key Skills Required for the Yard Manager: \n\n • Proven experience operating telehandlers within a commercial yard or construction environment\n, • Experience in supervising or managing operational teams, ideally within a similar yard-based or industrial setting\n, • Good understanding of HR processes and people management responsibilities\n, • Experience handling construction materials or hire-based products\n, • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal\n, • Experience of managing Health & Safety onsite\n, • IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel skills\n, • Strong leadership ability, with the confidence to motivate and manage a team effectively\n, • Full UK driving licence\n, • Reliable and proactive, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions\n\n \n What's in it for you? \n\n • Starting salary of £42,000 with bonus\n, • Mon to Fri 7.30 am to 4.30 pm or 8.00 am to 5.00 pm\n, • 25 days holiday + bank holidays\n, • Annual bonus (company/performance related\n, • Working as part of a supportive team\n, • Training and development opportunities\n
