Full Job Description We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and expanding industrial processing facility near Barking. \n The site operates within a fast-paced production environment, processing organic materials as part of its operations. Due to continued growth, the company is strengthening its engineering team, offering long-term stability and excellent opportunities for career development. \n This role would suit an engineer with both mechanical and electrical experience who enjoys working in a practical, industrial setting and is keen to further develop their skills within a modern, process-focused facility. You'll become part of a supportive team where your contribution is recognised and professional growth is encouraged. \n This is a full-time, permanent position. What You'll Be Doing\n\n • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on plant equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, processing vessels, and digesters\n, • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical systems\n, • Support reactive maintenance activities and complete maintenance records and documentation\n, • Assist with contractor coordination and third-party servicing activities\n, • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase plant reliability and efficiency\n, • Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment\n, • Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures\nHours\n 4 on / 4 off shift pattern 12-hour rotating day and night shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) Pay\n\n • Basic salary: £55,000, increasing to £57,000 after probation\n, • Overtime available, with potential earnings up to £62,000 annually\nSkills & Experience Required\n\n, • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent mechanical/electrical qualification\n, • Experience within manufacturing, production, processing, or similar industrial environments\n, • Comfortable working hands-on in industrial conditions, including working at height\n, • Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures\n, • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team\n, • Flexible approach to shift work and working hours\nBenefits\n\n, • Company pension scheme\n, • Sick pay\n, • Healthcare scheme\n, • Premium overtime rates available\n, • Ongoing training and career progression opportunities\n, • Free on-site parking\nEssential Requirements\n\n, • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)\n, • Applicants must be within a commutable distance of Barking\n
