ppPerform laboratory tests required by Saybolt’s clients with supervision, determining chemical or physical characteristics designated by the client. The Analyst assists peers and the Chief Analyst in laboratory duties, ensuring efficient work, accurate results, and timely delivery while maintaining safety, quality of service, and cost effectiveness. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliAssist peers and Chief Analyst in laboratory duties and run analyses at the lowest possible cost while meeting safety, quality, and asset maintenance requirements. /liliMaintain full cooperation with the department and managers on all assignments and follow all company procedures (e.g., HSE Manual, Accounting Policies Procedures, Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, Saybolt Compliance Code). /liliDemonstrate professional appearance and attitude, working harmoniously with fellow employees. /liliReport directly to the Chief Analyst and/or Laboratory Manager. /liliPrepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas and calibrate laboratory instruments under supervision. /liliClean and sterilize laboratory equipment and interpret laboratory raw data sheets, entering accurate data into Saybolt’s laboratory computer programs. /liliPerform basic analytical tests from well‑defined standards and procedures as required by management. /liliAttend training, pass examinations in petroleum, chemical, and gas analysis, and complete required safety and compliance training. /liliMaintain laboratory records in full compliance with the quality assurance program. /liliWork overtime as required and attend monthly safety meetings. /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliB.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related field and 1–2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. /liliStrong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interpret instructional and technical materials and to present information to managers, schedulers, and clients. /liliMathematical proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculation of rate, ratio, percent, and quantities in various units of measure. /liliAbility to read, interpolate, and interpret data tables, control charts, and graphs. /liliGood interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the capacity to work independently and accept assignments at any time. /liliBasic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets) and familiarity with Saybolt’s LIMS computer program. /liliAbility to set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment under supervision and to perform and maintain laboratory procedures, calibration, documentation, and record keeping. /li /ulh3Physical Demands /h3ulliPass drug and alcohol test required for safety‑sensitive employees. /liliWork in the presence of odors typical of petroleum or petrochemicals within OSHA-PELs without allergic reactions or nausea. /liliPerform duties that require standing, walking, reaching, crouching, and occasional lifting of up to 5kg, with occasional lifting up to 25kg. /liliMaintain close, distance, and depth vision and the ability to adjust focus. /li /ulh3Work Environment /h3ulliPotential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals; use provided personal protective equipment and adhere to engineering controls. /liliNo smoking or eating/drinking allowed in Saybolt laboratories. /liliNoise level is usually moderate. /li /ulh3Equal Opportunity Employment /h3pCore Laboratories, including all of its affiliated and related entities, is an equal‑opportunity employer and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone.
