ppA vacancy for a Space System Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Madrid (Getafe). The successful applicant will join the EOS Chief Engineering Department in Spain (TSESS). /p h3Tasks Accountabilities /h3 ul liAct as satellite system engineer, leading the design, development and testing of satellite systems with a focus on the platform and its building blocks for a smallsat product line for Earth Observation. /li liDerive satellite system specifications from mission requirements, and lower‑level specifications for subsystems and equipment. /li liIdentify market/business‑driven requirements and translate them into appropriate satellite system and subsystem requirements (e.g., connectivity, on‑board processing capabilities). /li liLiaise with the MSC roadmaps and company product strategy to ensure alignment. /li liDrive the adaptation of existing satellite product lines to satisfy customer requirements while enabling mid‑scale industrialisation of the satellite concept. /li liSupport the definition of the industrial policy for small satellites, identifying partners and subcontractors, leading co‑engineering activities with them, and supporting the selection and procurement process of satellite components. /li liEstablish and maintain satellite‑level engineering budgets (mass, power, data volume, pointing, etc.). /li liDefine the verification and validation logic for the product line, including identification of verification methods for satellite system/subsystem specifications and verification close‑out processes during development. /li liContribute to the execution of program milestones and reviews. /li /ul pIn addition to this, you will play a key role in: /p ul liDeploying novel engineering methods, processes and tools (e.g., MBSE, multi‑disciplinary analyses, concurrent design engineering). /li liDigitising design, development and manufacturing processes (e.g., DDMS) and ensuring smooth implementation across all disciplines. /li liDeveloping novel features into existing product lines or upgrading existing product lines to accommodate those features, as dictated by business requirements. /li /ul h3Required Skills Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. /li liProven experience (5+ years) required in: ul liSystems engineering applied to satellites. /li liSystems engineering processes, methods and tools. /li liMission analysis, constellation deployment strategies, multi‑orbit analyses (LEO, VLEO). /li liECSS Standards. /li liSpace systems verification and validation. /li liExecution of program milestones and reviews. /li /ul /li liStrong background in the industrialisation of satellite systems. /li liDeep knowledge of the processes and methods of space systems development, verification, validation and operation. /li liExperience in developing and executing functional validation tests on platform and spacecraft level. /li liExcellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. /li liKnowledge of industry standards and best practices for satellite development and testing (e.g., ECSS, MIL‑STD, CCSDS). /li liLanguages: ul liSpanish (required). /li liEnglish (required). /li liFrench, Italian, German (a plus). /li /ul /li /ul pbCompany: /b Airbus Defence and Space SAU /p pbEmployment Type: /b Permanent /p pbExperience Level: /b Professional /p pbJob Family: /b Chief Engineering Architecture /p pAirbus is committed to achieving workforce diversity and creating an inclusive working environment.
