Overview Department: PropertyLocation: MadridEmployment type: Indefinite Responsibilities Civil & Structural Design Leadership: Lead the review, coordination, and technical oversight of all Civil, Structural, and infrastructure-related systems across hospitality projects, and provide strategic Civil and Structural input during feasibility, concept, and early design stages (Stages 1–3), supporting site planning, grading, retaining systems, drainage strategies, infrastructure coordination, structural concepts, and buildability assessments. Design Coordination & Technical Integration: Coordinate Civil and Structural integration with Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape, MEP, Infrastructure, Lighting, and specialist disciplines, review and evaluate drawings, reports, calculations, technical submissions, and consultant deliverables, ensure multidisciplinary coordination throughout schematic and detailed design phases (Stages 4–7), and identify technical conflicts, engineering risks, coordination gaps, and constructability challenges, supporting timely resolution. Consultant Management & Technical Review: Coordinate with external Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Infrastructure, and specialist consultants across all projects, review technical submissions and engineering proposals to ensure quality, compliance, and alignment with approved project objectives, and participate in technical workshops, coordination meetings, and design reviews with internal and external stakeholders. Design Intent & Quality Assurance: Ensure Civil and Structural solutions support and protect the approved architectural and landscape design intent, evaluate engineering proposals and technical solutions to ensure they do not negatively impact spatial quality, guest experience, operational functionality, or project aesthetics, and support the Design department in balancing technical requirements with hospitality product quality expectations. Value Engineering & Technical Optimization: Support value engineering exercises by evaluating alternative structural systems, infrastructure solutions, and technical approaches, promote efficient, buildable, maintainable, and commercially viable engineering solutions, and assess the impact of cost optimization initiatives on design quality, construction methodology, operational efficiency, and long-term durability. Project Support, Performance & Compliance: Coordinate closely with Project Directors, Delivery teams, and Design Managers throughout all project phases, support tender and construction phases through technical reviews, shop drawing evaluations, site coordination, site visits, inspections, mock-up reviews, and resolution of technical issues, ensure Civil and Structural systems consider durability, safety, maintainability, operational efficiency, and lifecycle performance, support sustainability, resilience and infrastructure optimization, and ensure compliance with applicable local regulations, building codes, technical standards, seismic, fire life safety, structural stability, accessibility requirements, while coordinating with local consultants, authorities, and monitoring evolving regulations and approval requirements. Qualifications Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with 10+ years of experience in Civil and Structural design coordination within hospitality, mixed‑use, resort, or complex development projects. Strong experience in multidisciplinary coordination and integrated design processes, with proven experience supporting projects throughout schematic design, detailed design, tender, and construction phases, and experience within hotel owner, developer, operator, or integrated project environments highly desirable. Strong understanding of hospitality operational requirements and luxury asset standards, with proficiency in Auto CAD and technical document review, and familiarity with BIM/Revit coordination environments preferred. Fluent English required; Greek and/or Spanish preferred. Strong technical engineering and coordination capability, understanding of hospitality operational and asset performance requirements, strong multidisciplinary collaboration and problem‑solving skills, ability to balance technical, operational, commercial, and design considerations, high attention to detail and quality standards, and strong stakeholder management and communication skills. The Civil & Structural technical authority within the Design department, the key coordinator for engineering integration across hospitality projects, and the guardian of technical quality, buildability, and alignment with design intent, ensuring that all Civil and Structural systems are technically robust, operationally efficient, coordinated with the overall hospitality design vision, and aligned with the company’s long‑term quality and asset performance objectives.
