ppAs CTO you will own the full engineering organisation at Fourvenues — architecture, delivery, platform reliability, technical standards, and engineering culture. You will work as a peer to the CPO, who owns product strategy and roadmap, and together you will close the gap between what the business needs to build and how it gets built. /p pFourvenues operates a modern SaaS platform built around Node.js services, Angular frontends, MongoDB, Redis/Valkey, Elasticsearch, and selected legacy PHP components. Our infrastructure runs primarily on Google Cloud and Kubernetes, with Cloudflare, Varnish, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and observability tooling such as Grafana, Better Stack, New Relic, and Rollbar supporting reliability, performance, and delivery. /p pThe CTO is not expected to be hands‑on in every technology, but must have enough technical depth to guide architecture, challenge decisions, improve engineering standards, and lead the evolution of a scalable, secure, and reliable international platform. /p pThe engineering team is talented, motivated, and ready to be led well. Your job is to give them the structure, the clarity, and the genuine ownership they need to operate at their best. /p pbReport to: /b CEO. /p h3What You’ll Be Doing... /h3 h3Engineering strategy and architecture /h3 ul liDefine and own the technical vision and architecture strategy for Fourvenues /li liEnsure the platform scales reliably across multiple countries /li liEstablish technical standards, decision‑making frameworks, and documentation practices that distribute knowledge and reduce single‑person dependencies /li liOwn the technical roadmap working alongside with the product roadmap — planning and protecting engineering capacity for both delivery and platform health /li liManage technical debt deliberately as a strategic decision, not an afterthought /li /ul h3Engineering leadership and people development /h3 ul liLead, manage, coach, and develop the full engineering organisation /li liBuild a culture of genuine technical ownership — where engineers have real authority commensurate with their responsibility /li liRun a meaningful 1:1 and feedback cadence — developing leaders, not just managing delivery /li liBuild career development frameworks for engineers at every level /li liCreate the conditions where senior technical talent can do their best work — protecting time for analysis, architecture, and craft without impacting organisational needs /li liRecruit and continuously raise the technical bar across the engineering organisation /li /ul h3Engineering delivery and operational excellence /h3 ul liOwn engineering delivery — shipping reliably, predictably, and at the quality the market expects /li liEstablish planning rhythms and protect them — sprint planning, technical analysis before development begins, retrospectives, and delivery reviews /li liDefine and enforce clear escalation standards — what is a genuine hotfix, what is not, and how unplanned work is managed /li liDrive DevOps, CI/CD, and platform reliability practices across the organisation /li liEnsure platform security and infrastructure are managed as strategic priorities /li liDistribute critical knowledge across the team — no system or access should depend on a single individual /li liChampion the pragmatic adoption of AI tooling across engineering workflows — code generation, automated testing, observability, and incident response — embedding it as standard practice where it creates genuine leverage /li /ul h3Product and engineering alignment /h3 ul liWork as a genuine peer to the CPO — building a trust‑based relationship where product and engineering make decisions together /li liEnsure engineering has a voice when features and priorities are defined — not just when they arrive for estimation /li liEstablish clear decision rights at the product‑engineering interface /li liEmbed technical analysis as a standard step before development begins /li liChampion quality as the fastest path — not as a blocker to speed /li /ul h3Executive leadership /h3 ul liWork and collaborate as a member of Fourvenues’ leadership team /li liPartner with the CEO on engineering investment, and technology strategy /li liSurface risks and hard truths early — this organisation needs a CTO who tells it straight /li /ul h3What we need from you... /h3 ul li10+ years in engineering leadership, with at least 3 years as CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent in B2B SaaS /li liProven track record scaling engineering through international growth /li liSpecific experience building engineering ownership structures — distributing technical authority, defining Tech Lead and Team Lead roles, reducing single‑person dependencies — non‑negotiable /li liExperience transitioning engineering teams from reactive feature delivery to structured, technically‑led development — non‑negotiable /li liStrong track record working as a peer to product leadership — aligning on priorities and decision rights /li liDeep technical credibility earned through knowledge and judgement, not authority /li liFamiliarity with modern SaaS stacks, CI/CD, and observability tooling, with enough technical depth to guide architecture and challenge decisions. /li liPractical experience embedding AI tooling into engineering workflows — code assistance, automated testing, and observability /li liStrong people leadership — you develop engineers into leaders /li liExperience in founder‑led or high‑growth environments where structure was being built /li liFluent English and Spanish /li liVertical SaaS, hospitality, or events technology experience a strong plus /li liBuilder mentality, commercial awareness, and instinctive delegator /li /ul h3What We Offer... /h3 ul libCompetitive compensation /b aligned with the role and level of responsibility. /li libAnnual
