Location: Malaga, Spain - Hybrid working model (2 days a week onsite) About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Regional SOC Team Lead to take ownership of the leadership, development, and operational performance of a Security Operations function within a global organisation. This is a senior cybersecurity leadership position combining strategic direction, people management, and hands‐on technical expertise. You will lead a team of SOC analysts, ensuring they have the guidance, processes, and capabilities required to deliver high-quality security monitoring, incident response, and threat detection services. Working closely with global security teams and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping regional security operations, improving processes, developing talent, and ensuring the organisation remains prepared to respond effectively to evolving cyber threats. This role requires an experienced security leader who can balance operational delivery with long‐term strategic improvement and act as a trusted advisor to technical and executive stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SOC analysts across different experience levels., • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and career development support to team members., • Conduct performance reviews, establish objectives, and support ongoing professional growth., • Manage team structures, schedules, and resource planning to maintain effective 24/7 security operations coverage., • Build a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Security Operations Strategy & Delivery • Develop and execute regional SOC strategies aligned with wider business and security objectives., • Define and monitor operational KPIs, metrics, and performance indicators., • Act as a senior escalation point for complex and high‐severity security incidents., • Provide leadership and coordination during major incidents and critical response activities., • Continuously improve incident response processes, playbooks, runbooks, and operational procedures., • Ensure security capabilities remain effective against emerging threats and changing attack techniques. Stakeholder Engagement • Act as the regional security operations representative for business units and IT leadership., • Communicate security risks, incidents, trends, and operational performance to technical and executive audiences., • Collaborate with global security functions including threat intelligence, detection engineering, and incident response teams., • Support alignment between regional security priorities and global cybersecurity initiatives. About You You are an experienced cybersecurity professional with a strong background in Security Operations and a proven ability to lead and develop high‐performing teams. You Will Bring: • 5+ years of experience within Security Operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership or team management role., • Experience managing SOC teams operating in shift‐based or 24/7 environments., • Proven experience mentoring, developing, and retaining cybersecurity talent., • Strong technical knowledge across security technologies including:, • SIEM platforms, • EDR/XDR solutions, • IDS/IPS technologies, • Threat detection and response tooling, • A strong understanding of modern threat landscapes, attacker techniques, TTPs, and incident response methodologies., • Experience leading security investigations and managing complex incidents., • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non‐technical stakeholders., • Strong organisational skills with experience creating documentation, procedures, and operational frameworks., • A strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for improving security capability and operational maturity. The following would be advantageous: • Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline., • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent leadership qualifications., • Technical certifications such as SANS GIAC certifications (GCIA, GCIH, or similar)., • Experience building or scaling SOC functions within a global organisation.
