LABORATORY VETERINARIAN Responsible for efficient and high‑quality end‑to‑end sample processing and reporting within a veterinary diagnostic reference laboratory, contributing to the betterment of animal health and welfare. This role includes sample preparation, instrument set‑up, QC, running tests and validating results, ensuring turnaround times are met and daily workload is completed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform and review all required quality control per QA guidelines., • Competent in sample processing and releasing/validating results, including haematology, biochemistry, endocrinology, urinalysis, proteinograms, serology, and microbiology., • Ensure daily workload is appropriately prioritised and completed, meeting turnaround time expectations., • Reconcile pending list and resolve irregularities., • Carry out routine equipment QC and maintenance., • Diagnose and resolve QC, technical, and test issues; escalate ongoing issues to laboratory manager when appropriate., • Provide accurate, timely assessments and decisions, including escalation to line manager when required., • Train new and junior staff in all areas according to SOPs., • Provide ongoing technical support to more junior staff roles., • Liaise with Customer Service and other laboratory or external personnel to support customer queries via phone and email., • Support writing/review of SOPs., • Read, understand, and follow applicable SOPs., • Participate in all departmental training programs; ensure ongoing technical competency., • Assist in managing inventory and supply ordering., • Comply with laboratory Health and Safety procedures., • Maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked laboratory., • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications, • Veterinary degree., • Minimum of 3 years clinical laboratory experience in a high‑throughput clinical laboratory, including analyser set‑up, QC review, specimen preparation, reading and releasing test results, and troubleshooting technical issues., • Ability to communicate in written and verbal English., • Experience in all or some of the following areas: haematology processing including blood film review, urinalysis and fluid processing including microscopy, biochemistry, endocrinology., • Experience operating within a quality management system and laboratory information system., • Experience handling veterinary samples is an advantage. xcskxlj, • Experience in supervising and/or staff training is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
