As you consider applying, reflect on how your unique skills, passion, and vision align with our mission to innovate and energize the world responsibly. /p h3bResponsibilities: /bEnvironmental and Social Management Systems /h3 ul lipSupport in the development and implementation of the corporate ESMS, ensuring adequate cascading across all AE portfolio of projects at all stages /p /li lipOversee and support in the development of project-specific ESMSs to ensure alignment with ESIA, ESAP, employer requirements, investors, and lenders’ requirements /p /li lipMaintain up-to-date knowledge of international, regional, and local environmental and social standards and legislation, as well as rapidly evolving ESG frameworks and requirements /p /li lipCoordinate/interface with internal resources or external consultants accordingly /p /li lipSupport in the required tasks to obtain and maintain ISO certifications /p /li /ul ul lipbEnvironmental and Social Studies and Assessments /b /p ul lipConduct ES screening assessments of potential investment opportunities at origination stage /p /li lipConduct ES due diligence assessments, both internally and coordinating third party assessments by ES consultants of potential investment opportunities /p /li lipSupport in the preparation of tenders, evaluation of proposals and selection of specialised consultants to perform ESIA studies and other related studies for projects /p /li lipCoordinate the tasks of the ES consultants, monitor the progress of the ESIA process and review deliverables, to ensure Project requirements are fulfilled on time, budget and with the right quality and up to the required standards (Corporate requirements and Lender standards) /p /li lipCoordinate with the technical, project finance and investment team as well as in-country teams for the planning, execution and timely consideration of requirements /p /li lipSupport in the interface with Lenders ES teams and Lenders ES advisors /p /li lipCoordinate required ES activities at country level, directing local ES representatives across all relevant ES aspects including the process of land acquisition where applicable /p /li lipPreparation of ES components of tender submissions, evaluation and negotiation of ES / QHSE contractual obligations with EPC / Suppliers / BOP and OM contractors /p /li /ul /li /ul h3Project Planning, Execution Operations /h3 ul lipProvide early environmental and social support with planning and relevant consent applications /p /li lipGuide and manage the development of the Project-specific ESMMPs by the EPC / Suppliers / BOP and OM contractors in line with applicable ESG compliance framework /p /li lipOversee and monitor ES performance of EPC / Suppliers / BOP and OM contractors through site inspections, progress meetings, review of documentation and performance indicators for Projects under construction and operation /p /li lipOversee the process followed by the Contractor to identify, correct and prevent incidents, accidents, non-conformances and grievances /p /li lipDevelop monthly, quarterly and annual ES internal and external monitoring reports /p /li lipMaintain strong liaison with the Project team at Corporate level, Country level and Project level /p /li lipWork closely with internal (QHSE, technical, investments, contracts, legal) external stakeholders to identify and address ES risks, and material emerging issues /p /li lipCoordinate required ES activities at country level, directing local ES representatives /p /li lipCommunicate project requirements, environmental social procedures and standards to relevant parties and oversee their implementation /p /li lipBalance works to be completed internally or sub-contracted /p /li /ul h3Social Development Investment /h3 ul lipSupport the development of the ‘social investment’ strategy in line with best international practice and specific operating guidelines (e.g. in human rights, community development framework, stakeholder engagement strategy) /p /li lipSupport the identification, assessment of feasibility, development, and implementation of social investment initiatives and projects across the AE portfolio, including activity steps, resourcing, budget requirements, and timelines /p /li lipManage and monitor the successful implementation of social investment initiatives while providing guidance, direction, and supervision of local ES representatives; support them on engagement with local communities, including consultation and disclosure events, community meetings, evaluating, reporting, and resolving community grievances, and providing feedback to communities on issues /p /li lipParticipate in and monitor the implementation of stakeholder engagement plans /p /li lipEstablish collaborative and positive relationships with different stakeholders, particularly with local communities /p /li /ul h3QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS /h3 pbPreferred Qualifications: /b /p pDegree in Environmental discipline, Engineering, International Development or equivalent experience /p pMaster’s degree in relevant subject /p pbPreferred Experience: /b /p ul lipMinimum of 12 years’ experience in a similar role /p /li lipPrevious experience with a Developer, an ES Consultancy, a development financial institution and/or international construction company /p /li lipSignificant experience in front-end environmental and social studies and assessments, particularly for renewable energy assets and preferably in wind and solar PV technologies /p /li lipSignificant proven experience in the development of ESMS including environmental, health Safety, labour, social and quality management plans /p /li lipExtensive experience working with IFC Performance Standards on Environmental Social Sustainability, EBRD ES Policy, EIB ES Standards and ES frameworks of development financial institutions and/or multilateral banks /p /li lipPrevious experience in emerging markets is a must, preferably in MENA and/or Western Balkans /p /li /ul pbJob Specific Skills: /b /p ul lipProven ability to work in a team, self-motivated, with a collaborative and committed attitude and strong capacity to influence others while being diplomatic /p /li lipAbility to communicate and present to all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders/parties /p /li lipQuality focused with a strive for excellence and demonstrated report writing skills /p /li lipShares ideas and expertise proactively, provides feedback constructively, and demonstrates receptiveness to new thinking /p /li lipStrong sense of ethics and integrity /p /li lipPassionate about environmental protection and socio-economic development, with a strong affinity for working with communities and understanding of cultural sensitivities /p /li lipProfound understanding of business impact on society/ecosystems and vice versa through previous multi-disciplinary experience (e.g. NGO, government, and corporate) /p /li lipProficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint /p /li lipOther spoken languages (i.e. Serbian, /p /li /ul h3ADDITIONAL INFORMATION /h3 pThis list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the employee may be required to perform duties outside of those mentioned as operationally required and at the discretion of the Line Manager.
