Job DescriptionJob Title: Material HandlerJob Description The Material Handler supports warehouse and data center operations by accurately receiving, handling, and shipping materials and high-value server equipment. This role involves picking parts based on customer orders, maintaining inventory control and records, and ensuring timely and precise movement of goods throughout a large, climate-controlled facility. The position requires consistent attention to detail, safe operation of material handling equipment, and effective communication with internal teams and external partners. Responsibilities • Pick parts and materials according to customer orders and place them in designated work areas., • Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and related documents to determine items to be picked, gathered, distributed, or shipped., • Initiate and maintain open communication with customers, third-party vendors, and internal departments to verify information and escalate service orders when needed., • Move items from bulk containers, racks, shelves, or bins according to a predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code., • Assist in counting and accurately tracking materials or items received or distributed, including support with physical inventory counts., • Maintain inventory control by ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of all materials handled., • Maintain accurate records related to receiving, shipping, and inventory activities., • Ensure accurate and timely shipments and receipts by following established procedures and timelines., • Respond to and resolve inquiries related to receipts, tasks, and material handling activities., • Organize the facility, warehouse, and work areas to maintain orderliness at all times in line with 5S and housekeeping standards., • Unload, depalletize, and transport server racks to designated locations such as roll racks., • Receive, check, and book deliveries into the system, ensuring accuracy and completeness., • Perform picking and dispatching activities to support outbound shipments and internal requests., • Unbox and re-box items as required to support handling, storage, or shipping processes., • Provide assistance with receipt and task-related queries to support smooth operational flow., • Work the required schedule as needed to meet production goals and site Key Performance Indicators, adapting to schedule fluctuations based on business needs., • Perform 5S and general housekeeping duties to keep the work environment clean, safe, and organized., • Handle high-value server equipment carefully and in accordance with safety and handling procedures., • Carry out other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and data center operations.Essential Skills, • Proven experience in material handling within a warehouse or similar environment., • Ability to perform packing, packaging, and general labor tasks safely and efficiently., • Proficiency using RF scanners for picking, receiving, and inventory tracking., • Experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse setting., • Experience using pallet jacks to move materials and equipment., • Hands-on experience with loading and unloading materials, including depalletizing., • Demonstrated skills in picking, shipping, and receiving operations., • Ability to read and interpret customer orders, work orders, and shipping documents accurately., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate counts, records, and shipments., • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with significant walking throughout the shift., • Commitment to working required schedules to meet production goals and performance targets.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience handling high-value equipment, particularly server racks or similar technology hardware., • Familiarity with 5S principles and housekeeping practices in a warehouse or industrial setting., • Comfort working in a large data center and warehouse environment., • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, third-party vendors, and internal teams., • Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly storage and work areas., • Adaptability to changing business needs and fluctuating schedules.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large data center and warehouse environment that is climate-controlled and safety-focused. You will handle high-value server equipment and other materials, working in a fast-paced operation that requires significant walking throughout the shift. The facility emphasizes 5S and housekeeping standards, so work areas remain clean, organized, and efficient. Typical shifts run Monday through Friday, either 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of schedule adjustments based on business needs. You will regularly use material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners while adhering to all safety procedures and operational guidelines.
