Our retail brand relies on a clean, modern, and inviting aesthetic to maximize the customer shopping experience. We are looking for an experienced Painter to handle cosmetic upkeep, seasonal color refreshes, and surface repairs across our retail space.
The ideal candidate works efficiently during off-peak or overnight hours to minimize disruption to shoppers and store operations. You will ensure flawless surface preparation and crisp finishes that align with our strict brand guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Patch holes using spackle, repair drywall, sand rough textures, scrape peeling paint, and apply primers. [1, 2]
- Sealing and Caulking: Apply caulk to seal gaps, joints, and baseboards smoothly before painting to ensure water resistance and clean edges. [1, 2, 3]
- Paint Application: Apply high-quality coats of paint, varnish, and industrial coatings to interior walls, accent features, and exterior facades.
- Merchandise Protection: Mask and tape baseboards, door frames, windows, light fixtures, and store merchandise securely.
- Brand Matching: Mix, match, and align colors exactly with corporate brand codes and specific interior design schemes.
- Equipment Safety: Safely erect ladders, staging, or light scaffolding to paint tall retail ceilings or signs.
- Site Cleanliness: Maintain a highly organized workspace and execute pristine cleanups so the store remains ready for customers.
- Inventory Control: Keep accurate stock of paint cans, caulking tubes, spackling paste, brushes, and tape.
Skills and Qualifications
- Commercial Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience painting in commercial or busy retail settings.
- Technical Mastery: Proficient with caulk guns, putty knives, brushes, rollers, and commercial paint spraying equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Sharp eye for seamless spackle blending, smooth caulk lines, color consistency, and sharp edging.
- Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand, bend, and lift heavy paint materials for extended shifts.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work evening, overnight, or early morning shifts when the store is closed.
- Workplace Safety: Knowledge of chemical safety, proper ventilation techniques, and safe ladder handling. [1]
