SUMMARY New York Edge is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and mission-oriented individual to fill the role of Family Development Coach (FDC) in our High School Youth: Educational Support program area. The FDC will develop a partnership between student participants and their families and include helping participants set reachable goals for their own self-reliance, methods for achieving them, and providing or facilitating access to services needed to reach these goals, offering encouragement, and exploring challenges and opportunities to identify solutions for themselves. The power of the relationship exists between the participant and the FDC and will be built on mutual respect and trust. The FDC will focus on changing behaviors rather than “fixing problems," and will support participants in identifying and developing their strengths. The FDC will coordinate services and ensure that they are aligned and integrated with participants’ needs and goals. PROGRAMMATIC OVERSIGHT Maintain an emotionally and physically safe environment for youth that meets all compliance and safety requirements set forth by the organization, DOE, DOH, funders and applicable labor law. Identify needs of the targeted students, apply interventions, and track and monitor input and impact of interventions for weekly meetings about student progress. RELATIONSHIP AND PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT Provide holistic assessment, creation, and implementation of a Family Development Plan (FDP) that outlines participants’ strengths and self-defined goals, specific steps to take to achieve goals, available supports and resources needed, and a realistic timeline to meet the goals. Regularly review the FDP to assess whether goals have been met or need to be adjusted mid-course, Provide follow-up to ensure that the participants have received requested services. Cultivate and forge positive relationships with Principal, Assistant Principals, teachers, parents and parent coordinators and other key constituents in the community to engage their support in ensuring programmatic quality for the youth we serve. Help broker new partnerships aligned with student goals and needs. Collaborate with all program partners on program delivery to align with the goals in relation to student achievement and performance. Establish parent involvement in areas of advocacy, special events, daily operations, education, and trips. Identify and utilize community resources, including other schools, libraries, community and local government agencies. Work effectively with internship sites. Conduct outreach to students and families. Candidates should be comfortable speaking in public to large groups and have experience in a customer-facing environment. Primary Responsibilities: • Conduct Yankee Stadium tours in a fun, informative, safe and engaging manner for individuals and groups, • Maintain organization of guests while touring Yankee Stadium, • Adhere to Yankee Stadium safety and standard policies and expectations, • Communicate effectively with tour leadership, administrative staff, and guests to support efficient tour operations and exceptional guest service, • Distribute promotional items as directed by tour leadership team to tour guests, • Perform additional duties and assist with projects as assigned Qualifications and Experience: • Prior experience conducting tours, • Performative backgrounds a plus, • Bilingual/Spanish speaking a plus, • Demonstrated customer service experience, • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, • Ability to multitask and prioritize, • Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays), • Ability to work in an outdoor stadium environment, • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., • Knowledge of baseball history preferred The hourly rate for this role is $22/hour.   Job Description Summary: The Family Court Program offers case management and practical assistance to victims of crime. The overall goal of the program is to reduce the impact of victimization through advocacy, counseling and other support services. The Case Manager provides case management services to victims of domestic violence involved in the family court system and victims of crimes committed by juvenile delinquents. Essential Job Functions: · Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. · Providing client-centered crisis intervention, emotional support and case management to victims of crime and abuse; · Providing information regarding the Family Court process, court procedures and the types of relief available, including Orders of Protection; · Advocating with Family Court personnel (Judges, Court Clerks, Court Officers, civil legal attorneys, etc.) and the criminal justice system on behalf of clients; · Safety planning and risk assessment; · Referring victims to shelters and other services as needed; · Assisting clients with relocation and housing; · Providing emergency practical assistance including OVS compensation applications, transportation, food vouchers, financial assistance, emergency cell phones, lock replacement, etc.; · Attending internal and external meetings, trainings and workshops; · Maintaining thorough and accurate case records and statistics; · Various other duties to be determined by supervisor. Qualifications and Skills: Required: · Understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and other forms of victimization · Experience working with survivors of domestic violence. · Excellent communication and organizational skills. · Ability to work as part of a team while also independently generating tasks. Program Summary: The Family Development Coach provides direct case management and participant support services to fathers enrolled in the Fatherhood Initiative.
