The Pizza Chef will ensure every pizza is prepared consistently to meet the restaurant's quality standards. Responsibilities: Prepare pizza dough from scratch according to established recipes. Stretch, shape, and top pizzas with accuracy and consistency. Bake pizzas using deck, conveyor, or wood-fired ovens. Prepare and portion pizza toppings, sauces, cheeses, and other ingredients. Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management. Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients using FIFO procedures. Minimize food waste while maintaining portion control. Assist with prep work and other kitchen duties as needed. Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining high-quality standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely order completion. Requirements: Previous experience as a Pizza Chef, Pizza Maker, or Cook in a pizzeria or restaurant. Strong knowledge of pizza dough preparation, fermentation, and baking techniques. Experience operating commercial pizza ovens. Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure. Excellent attention to detail and consistency. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with hand-stretched, New York-style, Neapolitan, Sicilian, or other specialty pizzas. Knowledge of dough fermentation and scratch-made pizza production. Culinary training or certification is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment. Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
