Our client is seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Operative to join a brand-new flagship PBSA (Purpose-Built Student Accommodation) development in East London, opening later this year. \n This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major new launch, supporting the operation of a landmark student accommodation scheme of over 1,500 beds. Working alongside the Maintenance Manager, Supervisor and wider onsite team, you will play a key role in maintaining building services, responding to maintenance issues, and ensuring residents receive a first-class living experience. \n Key Responsibilities: \n\n • Deliver reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across building services, plant and communal areas.\n, • Diagnose and resolve day-to-day maintenance issues across mechanical, electrical and building fabric systems.\n, • Carry out routine plant room inspections and support the operation of HVAC systems, including AHUs, FCUs and associated equipment.\n, • Respond to resident maintenance requests professionally and within agreed service levels.\n, • Complete regular building inspections, safety checks and communal area walkarounds.\n, • Assist with fault finding, escalating specialist issues where required.\n, • Support contractor management and ensure works are completed safely and to a high standard.\n, • Maintain accurate maintenance records and promote a strong health & safety culture across site.\n\n Your Requirements: \n\n • Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, building services, hotel engineering, PBSA or residential maintenance role\n, • Experience carrying out reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance within a live operational environment\n, • Exposure to HVAC systems, plant rooms, AHUs, FCUs or building services systems\n, • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills\n, • Basic plumbing, electrical and general maintenance knowledge\n, • Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a wider team\n, • Good health & safety awareness and understanding of compliance requirements\n, • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach\n, • Experience using CAFM systems would be advantageous\n, • F-Gas, HVAC, mechanical or building services experience would be highly desirable\n\n Working Hours37.5 hours per week \n\n • 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis\n, • Weekend and bank holiday working required as part of the rota\n, • Shifts operating between 7:30am and 8:00pm\n\n What's In It For You? \n\n • Join a brand-new flagship student accommodation development from day one\n, • Work within a fast-growing and highly respected PBSA operator\n, • Exposure to a large-scale, modern building with extensive building services and plant infrastructure\n, • Opportunity to work alongside experienced maintenance and operations professionals\n, • Ongoing training and development opportunities\n, • Clear progression pathways within a growing portfolio\n, • Company benefits package\n, • Supportive team culture and long-term career prospects\n
