We are currently recruiting for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in social housing, reactive maintenance, and property refurbishment to work across a variety of residential properties. About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality painting and decorating works within occupied and void properties. You will be expected to deliver excellent standards of workmanship while providing outstanding customer service to tenants and residents. Key Responsibilities: Carry out all aspects of internal and external painting and decorating works within residential and social housing properties. Prepare surfaces by filling, sanding, stripping wallpaper, and making good prior to decorating. Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, and other surfaces. Hang wallpaper and carry out other decorative finishes where required. Complete reactive maintenance decorating following repairs carried out by other trades. Carry out minor making-good repairs, including basic plaster patching, caulking, and surface preparation. Undertake finishing and snagging works to ensure properties meet company quality standards. Diagnose defects and identify the most effective preparation and decorating solutions. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. Maintain clean and tidy working areas, particularly within occupied homes. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with tenants, residents, and clients. Accurately complete job reports and update work records as required. Essential Requirements: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Painting & Decorating, or proven industry experience. Strong painting and decorating skills with excellent attention to detail. Experience working within social housing, property maintenance, or repairs environments. Experience working in both occupied and void properties. Knowledge of surface preparation, decorating materials, and application techniques. Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Full UK Driving Licence.
