Stock Controller / Stores Supervisor c36k + BonusSouth East - Perm Ref: ABJ6718We are seeking an experienced Stores Supervisor / Stock Controller to join a successful and well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting production operations while driving continuous improvement within the Stores function.As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Stores area, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control, and distribution of materials, components, consumables, and tooling required to support manufacturing activities.As Stores Supervisor you are critical in maintaining stock accuracy, material traceability, inventory control, and timely material availability across the business. As stock controller you will work closely with Production, Purchasing, Planning, and Quality teams to ensure materials are managed effectively and efficiently.Key Responsibilities Stores Management & Inventory ControlOversee the receipt, storage, issue, and movement of all materials, components, consumables, and toolingMaintain accurate stock records and material traceability using ERP/MRP systemsMonitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment requirements with PurchasingConduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracyInvestigate and resolve stock discrepancies, implementing corrective actions where requiredEnsure all materials are correctly identified, stored, and maintained to quality and traceability standardsGoods Inwards & DespatchManage receipt and inspection of deliveries, ensuring goods match purchase orders and documentationLiaise with suppliers, Purchasing, and Quality regarding shortages, damages, or non-conforming materialsProcess delivery notes and associated documentation accurately and in a timely mannerCoordinate packing and despatch of customer and supplier consignments, ensuring safe and on-time deliveryArrange and monitor courier and transport collections as requiredProduction SupportPick, prepare, and issue job kits and materials in line with production schedulesWork closely with Production Supervisors to support operational requirements and minimise downtimeTeam LeadershipProvide day-to-day supervision and guidance to Stores personnelAllocate workloads and priorities to ensure efficient operationsContinuous Improvement & ComplianceIdentify opportunities to improve material flow, stock control, storage methods, and efficiencyEnsure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental, and company proceduresQualifications & ExperiencePrevious experience in a Stores, Warehouse, Logistics, or Inventory Control roleStrong organisational and administrative skillsGood understanding of stock control procedures and material traceabilityCompetent IT skills, including Microsoft OfficeSupervisory or team leader experienceExperience within an engineering or manufacturing environmentForklift Truck licence (training can be provided)Experience with ERP/MRP systemsWorking Hours - 39hrs week, £18/hr- Perm- c36k Monday to Friday (early finish Friday) Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5x hourly rate.
