\n Edit \n \n An established Birmingham steel stockholder is looking for an organised, confident and commercially minded Sales Administrator & Customer Service Coordinator. \n You will be a key point of contact for customers, handling enquiries by telephone, email and eBay. You will prepare quotations, process orders, resolve customer queries and follow up sales opportunities. \n This is a busy and varied position suited to someone who communicates confidently, works accurately and enjoys turning customer enquiries into confirmed orders. \n Main responsibilities \n\n • Answer approximately 20–30 customer calls each day.\n, • Monitor and respond to customer emails and eBay messages.\n, • Understand customer requirements and prepare accurate quotations.\n, • Follow up quotations and encourage customers to place orders.\n, • Process and update orders using WooCommerce and Windows-based systems.\n, • Check customer notes and communicate special instructions clearly to operations.\n, • Resolve routine product, order, delivery and service queries.\n, • Keep customers informed about order progress and deliveries.\n, • Maintain accurate records of quotations, follow-ups and outcomes.\n, • Work closely with the warehouse operations supervisor.\n, • Assist with order paperwork and label processing when cover is required.\n, • Develop strong knowledge of the company’s steel products and services.\n\n Essential requirements \n\n • Previous sales administration, customer service or order-processing experience.\n, • Experience preparing quotations and handling customer enquiries.\n, • A confident and professional telephone manner.\n, • Strong written communication and numerical accuracy.\n, • Comfortable using Windows-based computer systems.\n, • Able to manage calls, messages, quotations and orders without losing track of priorities.\n, • Confident following up quotations and asking customers for the order.\n, • Reliable, organised and calm in a busy working environment.\n\n Desirable experience \n\n • Steel stockholding, metals, engineering, construction products or industrial supplies.\n, • WooCommerce or another online order-management system.\n, • eBay business messages or other online marketplaces.\n, • B2B sales, sales support or account-management experience.\n\n Salary and commission \n The basic salary is £28,000–£31,000 per year, depending on relevant experience. \n Following the initial training period, the position includes: \n A performance-related commission scheme is available following the initial training period.
