Main Purpose of the Role:
To manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store, ensuring high standards of customer service, achieving sales and profitability targets, maintaining legal compliance, and leading a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all daily store operations to ensure efficient and profitable trading.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate store employees to achieve business objectives.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and conduct performance reviews for staff.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
- Manage stock ordering, inventory control, and minimise wastage and shrinkage.
- Ensure product availability and maintain high merchandising standards.
- Prepare and monitor store budgets, financial reports, and KPI performance.
- Analyse sales data and customer trends to improve business performance.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, licensing requirements, health and safety legislation, food hygiene regulations, and age-restricted sales policies.
- Oversee cash handling, banking procedures, and security controls.
- Develop promotional activities and local marketing initiatives to increase customer footfall.
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate business records and operational documentation.
- Ensure the store meets audit requirements and regulatory standards.
