Main Purpose of the Role:
To manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store, ensuring high standards of customer service, achieving sales and profitability targets, maintaining legal compliance, and leading a high-performing team.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage all daily store operations to ensure efficient and profitable trading.
Lead, supervise, and motivate store employees to achieve business objectives.
Recruit, train, schedule, and conduct performance reviews for staff.
Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
Manage stock ordering, inventory control, and minimise wastage and shrinkage.
Ensure product availability and maintain high merchandising standards.
Prepare and monitor store budgets, financial reports, and KPI performance.
Analyse sales data and customer trends to improve business performance.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
Ensure compliance with company policies, licensing requirements, health and safety legislation, food hygiene regulations, and age-restricted sales policies.
Oversee cash handling, banking procedures, and security controls.
Develop promotional activities and local marketing initiatives to increase customer footfall.
Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate where appropriate.
Maintain accurate business records and operational documentation.
Ensure the store meets audit requirements and regulatory standards.
