We're hiring — Kitchen Porter. 🧼 🥐 Turntable Bakery in Muswell Hill is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our small team — part-time, joining us across our opening days — Wednesday to Sunday, from late morning until close — with room to grow as we do. It's a hands-on role across both back and front of house: dishwashing, cleaning and prep, plus helping out on the counter and till. No two shifts the same — and real room to grow with us. → £12.71/hour → Wednesday–Sunday, late morning to close — as a guideline ~11am–4pm (Wed–Fri) and ~11am–4:30pm (Sat–Sun), roughly 26 hrs/week; times vary and aren't fixed → Free coffee and a fresh pastry on every shift → Workplace pension, paid annual leave (pro-rata) and a staff discount on our bakes → Real room to grow with the team Key Responsibilities BACK OF HOUSE ● Wash, dry and put away crockery, glassware, utensils, trays and equipment, keeping a steady flow of clean items throughout service. ● Keep the kitchen, wash-up area, floors, surfaces and bins clean, tidy and food-safe at all times. ● Manage rubbish, recycling and waste correctly and keep the back areas organised. ● Support the bakers and prep team with basic food preparation — weighing, portioning, prepping ingredients and simple assembly. ● Receive and put away deliveries, and help keep the stockroom and fridges organised and rotated. ● Follow all food safety, hygiene and cleaning schedules, completing records accurately every shift. FRONT OF HOUSE ● Help serve customers at the counter and operate the till accurately, especially during busy periods. ● Clear, wipe and reset tables, and keep the café area clean, stocked and welcoming. ● Restock the counter, drinks and takeaway supplies as needed. ● Bring the same warm, friendly welcome our customers expect from Turntable. GENERAL ● Support opening and closing routines and daily setup. ● Work flexibly across the kitchen and counter as the day demands, mucking in wherever the team needs a hand.
