Topigs Norsvin works with local subsidiaries, joint ventures, and distributors, including nucleus breeding farms to supply domestic and international markets with market-specific, high-quality porcine genetics. The company’s research, innovation, and genetic improvement are core to the business, with programs with leading universities and research institutes around the world. This role reports to the Director of Global Technical Services and leads the Global Veterinarian Services team, which includes the CVO and five cluster veterinarians responsible for worldwide veterinary services for the Topigs Norsvin breeding program and gene dissemination centers. The role also participates as CVO in the Global MT-Operations team and collaborates with global and cluster logistics, sales, and production teams, acting as a bridge between these groups and the veterinary teams (including RD Health and Behavior platform, the Genetic Nucleus group, and Global Technical Services). It participates in Global Technical Services management meetings (MT GTS) to represent the interests of the Global Veterinarian Services team and is responsible for the external representation of the veterinarian department at congresses, authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders in the veterinary field. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliDevelop, implement, and monitor a global health plan for the Topigs Norsvin breeding and production infrastructure. /liliReport twice a year on the status of the breeding herds as AI studs for health and biosecurity monitoring to the Management Team Operations (via the Chief Technical Officer). /liliInterpret health disruptions and take adequate actions when needed. /liliManage the Global Veterinarian Services Team in developing and executing the Topigs Norsvin health plan. /liliGuarantee biosecurity of the genetic nucleus breeding infrastructure, including AI stations, to remain healthy under Topigs Norsvin SPF health standards. /liliBased on audits in the clusters, identify action plans per cluster and monitor progress. /liliCoordinate the development and maintenance of health certificates and protocols in close contact with GSCM and local veterinarians. /liliDefine quality standards and monitor audits in the clusters for distributors regarding health and biosecurity. /liliOrganize and monitor adequate veterinarian support for the genetic dissemination process (semen, embryos, and animals). /liliCollaborate with the Health and Behavior platform to connect research, the GVS team, and field activities. /liliProvide veterinarian support and expertise in depopulation/eradication and other health improvement projects. /li /ulh3Profile and Skills /h3ulliSenior porcine veterinarian with at least 10 years of relevant work experience and a wide network in the international porcine sector. /liliThorough knowledge and interest in porcine veterinary medicine; experience with genetics and breeding programs is an advantage. /liliExcellent communicator with intercultural skills; able to motivate and inspire internal and external stakeholders in the veterinary environment. /liliSkills to manage different interests and the ability to work in an international setting with a quick and realistic understanding of issues. /liliNative or native-like English is a must. /liliKey competences include leadership, teamwork, decisiveness, forward thinking, management skills, independence, and persuasive communication. /li /ulh3Details /h3ulliThe position will be based in Spain. /liliFrequent international travel is expected up to 30%. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
