Flight Dynamics and Flight Control Laws Engineer – Getafe (Madrid) Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an experienced Flight Dynamics and Flight Control Laws Engineer to join the Flight Physics Centre of Competence (CoC) and contribute to key projects such as EF2000, FCAS, MRTT, SIRTAP, and M&L. The role focuses on designing control laws, performing flight clearance analyses, and ensuring aircraft safety and performance. Responsibilities • Define flight control system requirements including aircraft stability, control power, sensor, actuator, and electrical/hydraulic system specifications., • Design flight control law algorithms for stability augmentation, command systems, autopilots, and automatic functions to reduce pilot workload and ensure optimum handling qualities., • Produce comprehensive flight clearances that expand safe flight test envelopes, gather required data, and demonstrate desired performance., • Develop aircraft simulation models and simulation environments for validation, verification of flight control law software, and flight test matching of dynamic models., • Create documentation dossiers for handling qualities certification and qualification., • Contribute to flight control system development and certification within Airbus products., • Perform stability analysis for relevant aircraft configurations in both optimal and degraded states., • Analyze nonlinear aircraft simulations under various fault conditions to assess aircraft response and handling qualities., • Maintain and upgrade simulation models, pre‐ and post‐processing tools., • Conduct trade‐offs to identify root causes of deficiencies uncovered during flight clearance activities., • Organize flight dynamic manned simulation activities to support program requirements., • Define flight test campaigns for data gathering and handling qualities assessment., • Propose flight control law updates based on clearance and flight test results., • Analyze flight test data to update and validate simulation models and prepare certification dossiers. Qualifications & Skills • Aeronautical Engineering degree (Master in Air Vehicles preferred)., • Proficiency in English at a negotiation level; knowledge of German is valued., • Experience with FORTRAN, C, MATLAB, and Simulink., • Experience in flight dynamics activities is a plus., • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive work attitude., • Strategic thinking and methodical execution capabilities., • Resilience to work under pressure and willingness to travel as required., • Integrity, compliance awareness, and ethical standards., • Ability to integrate into a multicultural team and adapt to new topics and business areas.
