ppWe are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in agroecology and regenerative agriculture practices in woody crops to join the Fruit Production Program team, based in Lleida (Fruitcentre). /p pWe offer the opportunity to be part of an organization with a dynamic, collaborative work environment focused on professional development. /p pThe selected candidate will carry out research, innovation and demonstration projects as well as technology transfer activities in Agroecology and Regenerative Agriculture practices in temperate fruit orchards. The researcher will develop his/her activities in the Fruit Production program in a collaborative environment, interacting with other teams of IRTA. We are looking for somebody with a developed sense of curiosity, humble in attitude and that develops well in teamwork and collaboration environment. Research lines will be focused mainly on pome and stone fruits. /p pHead of the Program: Dr Georgina Alins /p h3Tasks and Responsibilities /h3 ul liPerformance of research activities on agroecology and regenerative agriculture practices within the fruit production program. Specifically, research topics will include orchard cover crop management, tree row soil cover management (i.e. herbicide alternatives), orchard biodiversity management to improve natural enemies and pollinators, soil management and integrated plant nutrition management to increase soil fertility, reduce soil greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance crop productivity and quality. /li liPerformance of literature review, manage data collection and analysis, with statistical evaluations to support sound scientific conclusions. /li liParticipation in the preparation of proposals for national and international public calls. /li liCollaboration in agreements with private companies. /li liCollaboration in the transfer of knowledge and technologies to the private sector and academia. /li liParticipation in dissemination activities related with the research line. /li /ul h3Required qualifications and experience /h3 ul liPh.D. in Plant Science (B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Agronomy, Biology or related). /li liRecord of publishing in peer-review scientific journals. /li liSound computational background at advanced user level of the Office pack (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and data analysis software. /li liCompetences in Agroecology and Regenerative Agriculture practices in temperate fruit orchards including one or several of the following topics: orchard cover crop management, tree row soil cover management (i.e. herbicide alternatives), orchard biodiversity management to increase natural enemies and pollinators, soil management and integrated plant nutrition management to improve soil fertility, reduce soil greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance crop productivity and quality. /li liStrong teamwork skills, ability to adapt to multidisciplinary environments and a focus on professional growth and development. /li liProficiency in English. /li liStrong organization capacity and ability to learn and successfully work within multidisciplinary teams and experience to motivate research teams. /li liMind oriented to challenges and focus on results. /li liCapacity and skills to develop and encourage strong collaborative links with the national and international scientific community and the fruit industry sector (Catalan, Spanish and European). /li liCapacity to foresee, plan and write R+D projects, reports, technical documents. /li liCommunication and team working attitude. /li liCatalan and Spanish are valued. /li /ul h3Advantages of joining our team /h3 ul liContract: full-time temporary position for 3 years. /li li37.5 hour workweek, with Friday afternoons off. /li liIntensive work schedule from 15/06 to 15/09. /li li3 days of family work conciliation. /li li45 hours of personal days. /li liFlexible Schedule for a good work-life balance. /li liContinuous training and professional growth opportunities. /li /ul pPlease know that if you are the chosen candidate and you are from a country which does not belong to the UE, IRTA’s People Department will support you to get the residence and working permits. /p pEqual treatment and equal opportunities are guaranteed for all candidates in the selection process, avoiding stereotypes, bias or barriers linked to gender, sexual orientation, origin, age, ideology, or any other potentially discriminatory condition.
