ppThe Computer Vision Center (CVC) is a non-profit research centerestablishedin 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and theUniversitatAutònomade Barcelona (UAB). Its mission is to carry outcutting-edgeresearch that has the highest international impact in the field of computer vision. It also promotes the transference of knowledge to industry and society. /p pComputer vision is an exciting research area and an omnipresent technology,essentially empoweringmachines withthesense of vision. The CVC is a successful marriage between knowledge and innovation. In addition to ourcutting-edgescientific achievements, we haveestablishedlasting ties with industrial partners and created several spin-off companies. /p pbResearch area or group: /bDocument Analysis Group (DAG) /p pbDescription of group/project: /b /p pDocument Analysis is a discipline that combines image analysis and pattern recognition techniques to process and extract information from documents fromdifferent sources. Sources include either raster formats, after scanning paper-based documents, or electronic formats such asps, HTML, pdf, etc. Research subfields include paper layout analysis, optical character recognition and graphics recognition. /p pThe CVC's Document Analysis group has research and development experience in the following concerns: /p ul liSymbol recognition /li liIndexing and browsing by graphical content /li liSketchyinterfaces diagrammatic reasoning /li liVisual languages for graphic documents /li liGraphics recognition architectures /li liReading systems for forms and structured documents /li liCamera-based OCR /li /ul pbContext and Mission: /b /p pCVC isseeking forabresearchengineer /bto collaborateinone of the projects of the group, focused on thebtreatment and exploitation of data from the documentary collection of historical archives. /b /p pThis project is funded by thebDepartamentde Cultura /bfrom thebGeneralitat de Catalunya /b. /p pbRequirements: /b /p ul liMS inComputerSciencespecializedin machine learning anddocumentimage analysis /li liStrong programming skills in Python and/or C++ /li liKnowledge and demonstrable experience with Deep Learning frameworks (Tensorflow,Pytorch, …) and image analysis packages (OpenCV, PIL) /li liExperience working in Linux computing environments /li liExperience in machine learning, GPU programming, distributed data processingsystemsor high-performance computing will be a plus /li liAble to work independently as well as within an interdisciplinary team /li liFluent in English.Good communicationskills /li /ul pbConditions: /b /p ul liThe position will belocatedat Computer Vision Center (CampusUniversitatAutònomade Barcelona) /li liWe offer apart-time(30h/w)temporary contractlinked to the project and budget duration /li /ul pbApplication Deadline: /b27July,2026 /p pThis projectisfunded by: /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
