We are looking for a Postdoctoral researcher in fruit pathology to join the Postharvest Program team, based in Lleida (Fruitcentre). The Postharvest Program aims to improve the quality of fruits and vegetables throughout the postharvest chain by developing innovative and sustainable strategies to control diseases, physiological disorders, and quality losses during storage. Tasks and Responsibilities • To perform research activities for the designated projects (national and/or international) and for contractual research with private companies in topics related to fruit pathology., • To be up to date with the state of the art research on the related topic as well as to transfer results and knowledge to stakeholders and end-users., • To contribute to positioning the Postharvest Program as a group of excellence through regular peer‑reviewed publications, contributions at national and international congresses and supervision of PhD and researchers., • To work in close collaboration with other IRTA researchers, as well as with external academic, institutional, and industrial partners. Required qualifications and experience • BSc in Biology, Agronomy or related field with a PhD in Plant and/or Postharvest Pathology., • Proven experience in fruit pathology and a relevant record of peer‑reviewed scientific publications in this field., • Proven experience in epidemiology and control of diseases., • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written., • Strong teamwork skills, ability to adapt to multidisciplinary environments and a focus on professional growth and development., • Proven experience in project management, with good organizational and coordination skills., • Full driving license for Europe and travelling availability., • Experience in pome and stone fruits will be valued., • Catalan and Spanish will be valued., • 2‑years Postdoctoral experience and achievements in similar fields will be evaluated., • Ability to establish and build good relationships within and outside the institution that will allow pursuing the objectives of the R&D activities and the Program’s strategic research goals., • Willingness to organise, share information and suggest improvements., • Flexibility and adaptation., • Motivated and willing to take on new challenges.
