ph3Job Description Summary /h3 pThe South Europe statutory leader is responsible for providing key controllership leadership and guidance to the finance and non-finance teams for the Region. This will include the active involvement in financial reporting of the company, the implementation of its policies and internal controls and leading audit requirements. The position will report to the North South Europe Controller and will work closely with the rest of the Region Controllership team to ensure we meet our key controllership objectives. You will also be expected to communicate with senior leadership from the business line and HQ organisations to execute your deliverables. /p pIn this role you will use your experience and expertise to solve problems, execute objectives for self and others, and impact short-term and some long-term business goals. You will be responsible for effectively executing the statutory activities for all legal entities within the region, as well as overseeing the execution of the statutory organization deliverables. You are expected to lead and drive actions, understand complex issues and provide resolutions. We also expect you to be able to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines at times to ensure the objectives of the organization are met. You will also be responsible for managing a team based in different countries and therefore must demonstrate strong leadership skills. /p h3Job Description /h3 ul liAudit requirements ul liManage internal and external audit works for your Region to ensure on-time delivery of the statutory requirements, execution of the audit plan against the regulatory deadlines /li liUtilize your technical knowledge to discuss technical matters with the audit team /li liCoordinate all deliverables with the relevant owners responsible parties to ensure documentation is provided to high quality and on time /li liEnsure that any findings are resolved with appropriate owners (Stat, OTR Finance, FPA, HR, Tax, Legal, other functions) for both US GAAP and local statutory purposes /li liLook for opportunities to improve the audit process, including identifying opportunities to reduce stat to GAAP adjustments by addressing the root cause /li liDirect and guide the business organization with the required disclosures and notes required for the statutory filings using your technical knowledge and expertise /li liSupport the compilation of local supplementary statistical filings. /li /ul /li liTransactional tax ul liOversee the compliance of the transactional tax filings required for your region e.g. VAT and WHT /li /ul /li liTechnical controllership ul liEnsure compliance with GE policies. Facilitate implementations of new rules and new tools impacting finance reporting /li liReview processes to improve overall efficiency, particularly LEAN simplification initiatives /li liCollaborate with the Vernova Hub and Genpact teams to ensure compliance, integrity of the accounts, and harmonisation of the accounting treatment. /li /ul /li liTeam leadership ul liResponsible for the oversight of a team that will support the execution of the statutory goals. /li liDrive and encourage process improvements and legal entity simplification /li liCollaborate with in-country service providers to identify opportunities to reduce statutory costs and manage risks. /li /ul /li /ul h3Qualifications: /h3 ul liProven years of experience in auditing, accounting, or financial reporting – ideally over 8 years within this area /li liManaging statutory audits/project management experience – ideally over 5 years within this area /li liDemonstrated proficiency of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP/local accounting standards and legal requirements) /li liHighly proficient use of MS Office, SAP experience preferable /li liMust be fluent in English and Spanish /li liValid authorization to work in Spain without current or future sponsorship. /li liHybrid working model: availability to work onsite in our office Coslada (Madrid) 1–2 days per week, with the remaining days working remotely. /li /ul h3Desired Characteristics: /h3 ul liExcellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner to multiple levels of the organization and other functions /li liStrong interpersonal and leadership skills /li liPrevious experience with tax aspects (direct and indirect) /li liEstablished project management skills, ability to execute according to timelines /li liStrong analytical skills – able to link financial results to operational performance drivers /li liAdaptable/Flexible – being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations /li liIntegrity – accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others /li liSomeone who is proactive and determined, committed to delivering high-quality work /li /ul h3Additional Information /h3 pRelocation Assistance Provided: No /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
