Description We are Amazon’s GES International Design & Construction team, and we are responsible for the design and construction of Amazon’s European building infrastructure such as fulfillment centers, cross docks, last‑mile delivery stations, and refurbishments of existing infrastructure. We now require a Mechanical & Electrical Services Technical Expert (MEP Manager) to support us with the growth of our international network. You will be responsible for the definition and improvement of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and BMS systems we design and implement in our buildings, and serve as a subject‑matter expert linking the construction, preconstruction, sustainability, and worldwide building design teams. The role will be based in Spain (Madrid or Barcelona) or Italy (Milan) with about 50 % of the time spent traveling domestically or internationally. Key Job Responsibilities Review, challenge and improve mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and BMS services for new‑built or refurbishment projects. Lead cost‑savings initiatives. Collect and sync feedback from developers, GCs, consultants, and internal stakeholders. Assist preconstruction and construction managers during design reviews. Deep dive into technical details and lead problem resolution on a need basis. Review and consult design templates, execution designs, sustainability solutions, and introduce improvements, including sustainability step changes. Collaborate with the global engineering services team to deliver mechanical handling equipment, Amazon Robotics equipment, and other building systems. Basic Qualifications Master’s degree or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Experience using business or technical software such as MS Excel, MS Project, or CAD software. Experience with simulation and 3D modeling software. Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems design. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing budgets. Experience as a general contractor. Experience managing cool chains, refrigeration equipment, installations, and temperature‑controlled environments is a strong plus. Knowledge of French, German, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese (Mandarin), Afrikaans, and Zulu is considered a preferred qualification. Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer.
